Thanks for the video. Came across your channel and feel you may have solved my problem. Couple of questions---I have a 2006 Sawtooth. Does the Polaris Phoenix and Sawtooth both not have a bendix? Also, I haven't tried changing the starter out yet. When I hold the starter switch down I get a clicking sound, but if I tap on the starter with a hammer it will fire and run after a few taps. Does this mean starter is bad? Thanks

Not sure on the sawtooth, sorry. Just go on partzilla and look at the parts diagram. And yes, your starter is likely going bad based on what you said.

nice! Im getting one of these in on trade and guy claims it sort of turns over, but the starter grinds. Im hoping its just the bendix, but any chance it could be the gear thats connected to the crank? motor turns over just fine he says as well but who knows! im guessing motor needs to come out to change that bendix gear it connects to correct?

I'm not really sure. I'm pretty sure this model doesn't use a bendix, it uses a reduction gear with a one way starter clutch. Shouldn't have to remove the engine. Id think just take the right side engine cover off and everything should be there.

@@Whitestrash ahh awesome thanks! cluch stuff looks super easy as you had the cover off so now im not worried... ill take the plug out and see if the starter is happier. that way ill know if the motor doesnt have some horrible issue. cheers.
