Good video. IMO, the two most competitive companies in the business... The dealer statement was an excellent point, and something that's often unknown until after purchasing a machine.

Dealer comment, spot on. When people ask my opinion on a product, that's what I tell them. Figure out what machine best suits your needs, then go shop for a dealer you can feel good about. A cheaper price doesn't mean you get a good deal if the after sale support isn't there.

I’m currently looking at Can Am, I have a 2020 Polaris Ranger XP 1000. I bought it 10-30-19, didn’t start driving it until 12-25-19.Use it like golf cart and as of 5-1-20 it has been in dealer shop 5 months, I had to take it back for more repairs last week. It hasn’t been abused, looks like a new machine. I have owned several Polaris products, but this will be my last.

So I’m on the market for a utv. I’ve watched so many videos and the comments are all the same back and forth. What I do seem to notice is that the defender and the ranger are the most popular. I’m leaning towards the ranger 1000 premium. I’ve never had a utv before and I’m hoping I get this right the 1st time for the money. I see just as many negative comments about each unit. Why I’m leaning towards the ranger is the fact that the power comes in peak at 3600 where you’d want the torque for pulling my utility trailer with wood and hauling brush and straw. IF there’s something I should know about the canam, I’m all ears and doing as much research as possible. I’m a few weeks out from the time I post this to decide. Thanks for the video and any possible help to avoid buyers remorse!

Wife and I just spent months researching Yamaha, Honda, Polaris... and ended up with a Can Am HD8. The Can Am’s handling and acceleration were a lot smoother than the Honda and Yamaha. The Polars dealers around me in Northern VA were all really aggressive, and that turned me right off. So in the end, our HD8XT was delivered yesterday evening, and hauling firewood and ripping up the mountain today.

Deranged Off-Road Good to know! This is our first UTV. I do wonder if we should have got the HD10 since this on 100 acres on the side of a mountain with lots of work to be done. Then again, it’s a retreat and not our daily work/home. Would have been nice to try the Polaris. Highly recommended but I’m not going to waste my time with sales folks who open the conversation with “What’s your salary?”

Flat Earth Punks Every now and then, we ask ourselves if we should have spent this much money on a UTV for property we don’t live on. Then as soon as start doing any work up the mountain, it’s an immediate, “Oh yeah.”

Nice video, thanks. I was wondering if the can-am defender and the can-am traxter are the same thing? I was told that in Europe, they do not sell the defender, only the traxter, (and some other models like maverick, etc). Looking at some pictures on the internet, the defender and traxter seems to be the exact same thing.. can some of you guys please clarify this for me? Thanks..

I have an 18 xp 1000 8500km of pretty much pulling trees or loaded bed or trail riding. The belt still looks new. Buddy has a honda 1000 and replaced the 2500$ 🇺🇸 transmission at 4500km doin the same riding I do. Before this ranger I had a 2013 brute 750 rode the guts out it and had 9,000km on it and never changed a belt. Its the opporateor nine times out of ten..

From a serviceable and quality stand point. Can-am stomps Polaris. Every Polaris I have serviced has been a mess. The suspension and bearings are poorly made/designed. The Can-am I have serviced have been much easier to work on and suspension is much better. There is a reason why Polaris is cheaper. They are built with cheap parts.

Obviously you own a Can Am because you had no Polaris to show and then crack a negitive joke about Polaris and state you were only kidding. Then you say Can Am has a lot more torque where it's a difference in approximately less than 3 foot pounds. Let me ask you a question, "which one of these two machines do you own"? Are you going to say Can Am?
