I'm running a ebay special primary clutch on my 2016 ranger 900xp. They are around $200 with a 2 year warranty. Just threw a button on it the other day but it lasted about a year.

Good video hope god the xp 1000 doesnt have those issues im at 10000km stil doing good i changed aqure rollers and dalton kit when was like new
@3ToeCustoms3 жыл бұрын
i think possibly the 1000XP clutch is a bit different design than the 900, and 1000S, but don't quote me on that cause i have no experience with them. at 10'000kms i'd say you're doing pretty good. may have to keep an eye out for looseness in the weights, and regular wear. they do need to serviced after a while like the pins that hold the weights.

@@3ToeCustoms ya last yr had ordered new weights frim dalton and had rollers replaced

If your putting on hard miles you need to pull the cover and blow out the belt dust. That dust is like sand paper and will destroy the rollers, bushings and eventually the weights. Polaris clutches are okay if you maintain them. I got 6k miles on a primary and secondary before I rebuilt them.

Yes, it's very important to blow them out regularly, and inspect the clutches. Although, when the spider nut backs off, there isn't much of a warning.

Howdy, I have a 2020 rzr 1000 S4 and it too failed the primary clutch in just 20 Hours! And, like your clutches, the wear on the weights is very uneven. Where one weight has crazy amount of wear with blue heat colouring at the tip, one other has little to no wear and the third weight has a lot of wear that you could say is in between the other weights. To me this is odd. I have had rzr 800s, 800-Ss, XP900 4s and have an XP1000 and have not seen this type of wear. The only explanation I can come up with is some sort of harmonic vibration at high RPMs and I too ride like you, where I hold it flat at max speed often. Also, the RPM limit is 8800 RPM where the Ranger 1000 is 8000RPM (I think), both machines use the same primary and the Rangers do not seem to have this issue from what I could find on line. Time for a Honda Talon maybe. I cant spent the rest of my life working on shit!

Yes, it is highly annoying, I had a stage 2 tune on mine that allowed me to rev past 9000 rpm, and could have been one of the causes. What may have also happened with mine, is that the Spider gear jam nut backed off, and I suspect it through the clutch out of balance as well.

We were driving mine and all of a sudden it was making a ticking noise and didnt want to go above 10 mph. What does that sound like to you? I took it to Ride now motorsports and they lied and said it needed a new motor. Showed me a pic of supposedly metal pieces in the oil they took out. When I had just put brand new oil in there. Anyways I took it somewhere else and he said something about pinrods but me and my dad thought it sounded more like something to do with the clutch. Any opinion would be greatly appreciated

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your RZR. There's always a possibility it; the clutch, as they can make ticking noises, and sound like it's coming from the engine. Are there any engine codes coming up?

Does a 19 900s have same primary as 17 1000s I need new 1000s and my buddy has extra from 900s
@3ToeCustoms3 жыл бұрын
the clutch itself is the same, but the spring, and weights may be different. the weights should be marked on the sides of the arms, and the spring would be a different color as well if they are different.

@@3ToeCustoms do think it would be fine to run in my 1000?
@3ToeCustoms3 жыл бұрын
@@the1chevyman like i said. i would check to make sure the spring, and weights are the same. the clutch itself is identical, and will work, but you may have to swap over the weights, and the spring from the 1000s. i have never been inside of a 1000S clutch to know if the weights, and spring are the same as the 900S.

Typical Polaris warranty, not worth the time to see them, they have a shit product and they know it
@3ToeCustoms Жыл бұрын
Polaris deff has a few weak points, and warranty is more of a dealer issue. But yeah, clutches should deff be covered under the Drivetrain warranty.
