They are the same speed ! The only reason the one was ahead was response time, you can see the one dude is faster in reacting or he is jumping the gun either way they are the same! That's why a heads up race is never a real indicator, you would be better off using the same guy and doing time trials .

x1boomer I have to agree with U... also I am unbiased and I watched the video it honestly looks like the rzr got the jump on take off as if the maverick driver hesistated or something. the bikes didn't take off at exact same time.. not saying the maverick would have won but that was bad take off... the tires didn't even turn at same time... so I don't really feel it was a good example... I being unbiased and fair would have to have another race with both bikes getting same takeoff and mutual jump on line...jus saying

We agree and we didn't get to have as many starts as we wanted to get a good even start because of time restraints. A better video will be coming soon though.

cody Richardson Yeah I would have to agree. This race was won at the line. Not a very fare comparison at all. And if your going to do a video like this and its NOT promoting either manufacturer then maybe a simple A to B straight line "drag race" should be on the pavement. TO MANY VARIABLES in the dirt or sand. 2wd is something to think about also. I mean if one is producing a lot more torque its not going to get traction and is going to finish last every time...

All they had access to was the '15 canam. That being said, there is another video showing '16 vs '16 and the canam wins the majority... I have a '14 900 xp4 and have a great time. Have not had any major issues with it, and am not sure I would spend close to $25k on either turbo. For not much more I could have an LS1 sand car..

I think they are both similarly performing machines. The can am has a higher power to weight, which should give it an edge in speed. How ever it appears that it may not. This can also be a driver issue. Bad driver will not make a good machine our perfom a better driver in a similar perfomring machine.

I watched take off 5 or 6 times in a row, im sure the polaris is in 4x4, as dust kicks up from front tires, but in same conditions the canam does not kick p dirt with front tires on take off

Ok that's a good race but they are a year apart Do the 2016 can am 131 hp vs 2016 RZR 141hp bet the can am smokes the RZR my opinion If the can am turbo keeps up with the rzr141hp and it's only a 121hp then the 131 hp will smash it!!!!!!!! And yes can am is better built I can't stand it with the popo saying they have been in the industry longer then step up the game!!!!

The rzr motor is actually a 999cc engine. That's why they got 110 hp out of the none turbo.

Kyle Fitzgerald the rzr turbo is a whole new motor. The entire chassis is a basically new from the ground up. 925cc. and 999cc doesn't mean more hp. their 325cc etx sportsman puts out 30+ hp. their 570cc puts out 44. thats more than yamaha 700cc engine.

Spencer Gull Yeah I know. But then again the rotax engines are known for torque. So that's why the maverick could keep up at the start. But if you watched the one where both 16 models vs the maverick actually beets the rzr by 3 feet in some races. Torque is everything my friend.

Ali Al-wazzan Can am doesn't release their 2016's until like September or October. But you loose 10 hp through the drive belt. So really the hp number in the 2016 can am is 121 to the rear wheels and the rzr is about 134 hp to the rear wheels. So all in all it's still 13 hp difference.

First of all, you are comparing a 2016 rzr with a 2015 maverick & you showed a dealership in the beginning so how could you not get your hands on a 2016 Mav, and the video is obviously biased, since one of the first things you said was you were "Showcasing" the rzr, then you gave specs and said the rzr is 144/1495 & maverick is 121/1399 was, that is only a 96 lb difference but a whopping 23 hp difference, that my friend is not an equal comparison, then on each start the rzr jumps or at least takes off first, you should have swapped drivers to see what happened, and I believe that the Mav was lifting at the end to make the rzr a great looking "Showcase"...I'm not mad at ya, just believe you were biased from the start, oh & I noticed what your desktop background was...Next time you do a comparison, contact me and let me be the Mav driver, but make sure you are Showcasing it, because it won't lose with myself driving it...;)

+Jason Williams thanks for the reply and I've said it before. Unfortunately you have no idea of the conditions that day or what my feelings were and bias. If you can know a person by watching their video or know what filming day was like behind the scenes you'd be singing a different tune. However, you were not there so you really can't say much but speculate. I'm not mad either because this crappy comparison has become one of the top viewed RZR videos --flaws and all. Filming day sucked with storms moving in and that changed the whole day cause we had a super short filming window which was already small to begin with. The plan was to compare the new Mav with the RZR but at the timeliness of the video there wasn't one available. The conditions weren't perfect for racing either but it's what I had. Compared with the quality and time put in to this video compared to the others it doesn't hold a candle to quality. But I was the first to show it race and that was the goal. The "controversy" I believe helped it's views even though it was unintentional. Thanks for the view even though you hated the video it's still a view ;-)

If these machines are NOT past their break in times this shoot out means NOTHING! I don't know about the RZR but I do know that the computer on the Can Am is in a break in mode and will not allow it to develop full power until AFTER it has enough run time on it. Oops - fail.

Very biased........ RZR Turbo stock is slower than the Maverick Turbo in stock form..... There are enough videos out there to prove it. The Maverick got a late jump which can not be compensated for in 250ft..... It would have pulled away no problem.

I had a outlander 1000xt but $1000 to get it serviced 3 times and $210 every 500 miles to get brakes put on it got old quick. the less than 10 inches of ground clearance sucked also when 11 was advertised and the clutches sucked, I smoked the belt with stock size all terrain tires! but it was fast lol.

there are videos of 16 vs 16 n on asphalt the maverick wins by 1 or 2 vehicles lengths and on flat sand rzr wins by 1 or 2 lengths n on sand dunes maverick wins by 2 or 3 lengths, most likely because it is lighter
