So much more fun back then. The farther back you go the more fun it was. I think for snowmobiling the early 1970's was probably the most exciting time just because there weren't that many people out there yet so you had free reign to go anywhere and do anything you wanted to do. You could ride flat out as much as you wanted with no one to tell you you couldn't. FREEDOM. That is the word to describe it.

There was so much more to watch and choose from back then too! Everyone was looking for the next level of style and comfort, but mostly performance! And with prices much more affordable than they are today, it exploded in the '70s! When you look at a 1970 product lineup vs. a 1980 lineup, snowmobiles had a steep developmental curve. My dad's old '71 Polaris Charger 335 seemed like a jalopy compared to even the '73s, which seemed old school compared to the 76-78 offerings, and then the '80s came and next thing we knew, we had front suspension and everything, literally everything changed from there. The '60s and '70s... those who missed it will never truly understand what it was really like.

Old commercials and promotional clips have always been fun to look back on and see how corny they were. Some, if not most, are still corny... especially that made for TV stuff at 3am!
