Mine caught on fire. Cause of fire was the ignition computer. Seems that there was a bad ground from factory. Luckily I carry a fire extinguisher so just make sure you have a fire extinguisher 🧯 handy when you purchase a Polaris.
@trailkings3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. That’s the first rzr 170 I’ve heard catching fire. That’s pretty scary with kids being involved. We do carry an fire extinguisher on our machines but this is definitely something to watch out for.

That's one heck of a marketing ploy lol. Good to know tho. I'll probably mount one on there. Did yours ever make like a ball sack slapping noise? I have a Polaris 500 sportsman that I can't figure out where the ball sack slapping noise is coming from. Does it when idling.
@trailkings3 жыл бұрын
That might be your clutch weights if it’s doing it at idle.

I couldn't edit my post but I wanted to update, that recall that I linked is for fuel tank neck cracking. But if you investigate the forums you'll see that a lot of owners had grounding issues along with ignition failures. Hope this helps. Stay safe.👍🏼

Thank you for sharing your input nice video. Why is it every time I want to buy a Polaris product feeling good to buy American I see from real time customers that the engineering from Polaris is a joke. Its like they develop these things on a computer then figure it out through trial and error from customer feedback. When in reality they should testing these products before they hit the show room floor. Just look at their ATVs and their steering knuckles, their frame braces coming apart, EPS failure recall, heat shields and vibration etc... I was Honda guy for many years then now wanting something different so now im riding can ams. Looking for couple small units for the kids this was my first video.

What age are your kids? I have a 9 year old and 12 year old and I am torn on which route to go. The 170 or wait another year or so and look at a 570?
@trailkings4 жыл бұрын
We started our kids on the rzr 170 at 8yrs old. They are 10 now & drive it like a pro. That’s a tough dilemma you’re in. It depends on your kids ability. My kids started in atv’s at 5.5yrs old & took to the rzr 170 easy. If your kids don’t have much experience then I would lien towards getting the rzr 170. If they have a lot experience then it might be worth waiting. Hope this helps in your decision making.

I recommend any sxs has 4 point harnesses. Had em in my yamaha and hardly even got bruised after a roll over. If I had the factory automobile style 3 point seat belts I know we would have gotten beat up in that... probably broken collar bone from impacting on one shoulder. Nope... upgrade those seat belts!
