This was great to hear your story. We can talk about all the features until we are blue in the face, but what really matters is having fun while doing it. I've also rediscovered the fun in the creation process since I jumped over, this resonates a lot with me.

Started as a Cubase SX user till I was given the chance to use Bitwig 1 in 2015. I was laughed at because it was a DAW in its infancy, so good to see so many producers using Bitwig 10 years later and to see how the DAW has jumped in leaps and bounds!

2014. I have no licence yet, just the demo. According to my first impressions I can relate you. I will "leave" Reaper for Bitwig (still remains for compatibility reasons and maybe for sampling and for other tasks I have lots of good scripts). But because the joy returned making music, experimenting, letting the daw inspire me in a way I never experienced - it will be my main composing daw for sure! Thanks for your tutorials and other stuff you made/make for the community, I really appreciate your time and effort, and the enthusiasm!

I often find myself evangelizing Bitwig in my head, like having imaginary conversations explaining to people how great it is. So, I appreciate it a lot. I also appreciate your videos more than I can say, because at first, Bitwig seemed too intimidating. You've made it accessible. Thank you very much.

2014, March. Time flies! It'd be awesome to win, as I've hit a creative wall recently, and I think that part of it is because I haven't adapted to the way things are, and I've been using my current DAW like I used to do so 15 years ago. Getting a new perspective might re-ignite some things for me, creatively. Greets Robert!

Bitwig was first released to the public in 2014. Back then, I was just getting admitted to music uni (it feels like it was yesterday). However, I only discovered it in 2022, and it was love at first sight. It has so much potential, it's so easy to learn, and it's so well-designed that I was able to learn everything I needed to make music in just one week. I then decided to buy a license. Bitwig has really come a long way... I can only imagine what the future will bring. 💙

My path to BITWIG back in the year of 2014 was clear as water. Started out producing music in the late 80's with all the different Soundtrackers. Laying notes on a grid. Almoust like programming all the music. Just like you mentioned how you worked with samples in Cubase. Soundtrackers forced me "thinking outside the box" solving different soundproblems (making own echoes and delays with note fx and pitch-slides. I am still a big fan of Karsten Obarski) lead to a special mindset which I re-discovered in Bitwig 1.0. I can reflect to what you say in your video about Bitwig and creativity, I felt exactly the same. I have tested all the other DAWS and the ones I still use frequently is Bitwig and of course a soundtracker (Renoise). A Big thanx for all the inspiration and new ideas you have given over the years and have a well deserved break. Best regards POOLO

Long time Ableton and probably soon full time Bitwig user here. My favorite thing about Bitwig is the user support! I've had multiple scenarios now, where I noticed that something would stop working in a beta release (because of my very elaborate setups 😂), and I would just message them and they would fix it. Whilst with Ableton it's just like screaming up from the bottom of a well... the first release of Bitwig was in 2014 :)

The answer to the question is 2014. I remember exactly the year when I saw the small Bitwig Studio stand at the Frankfurt Musikmesse. From that moment on, I fell in love with BWS. 😊 The simultaneous preview of clips and the arrangement window plus the endless possibilities of modulators in devices allowed me to move away from Ableton. I used 8 Track for many years until 2023 when I purchased a license for the full version through the splice portal. I'm looking forward to the next update. Thank you very much for the competition and best regards :) Krystian.

2014 was the first release there was also a demo version on some music journals. I actually found polarity with the drum device presets with bitwig. The modular approach inside the daw itself was new. While the main initial effects were kind of bold you could modify to create your own, the struggle shifted from sounding like everyone to a more nuanced flavors however you still have to do some patching. Bitwig and Cubase are my favorite daws all that time. It still surprises me that almost every new vst plug-in release could be recreated inside that modular environment. The grid took away the complexity of ni Reaktor btw.

Thank you for everything you do, Polarity! 2014. Coincidentally, it's the same year my nephew was born. Being the eager music maker that he is, last year I got him Bitwig 8-track for his birthday so he could have a decent DAW to grow and learn with. Since then I have been completely blown away by his talent and hard work. Bitwig's learning curve is next to none, and because of that he's making more music than he ever has. I'm so proud of him! I already have Bitwig Studio and a year of upgrades. I don't need anything. But his 10th birthday will be coming up in a few months :)

It must have been the year 2014. I got Bitwig 1 on a promotional they did with the Roli Seaboard Rise 25, which is what I was interested in as a keyboard player. But no other daw could record the Seaboard’s data back then very well, because mpe was so new. Bitwig killed it! The modulators made it so easy to get expressive sounds out of Bitwig’s synths. Over the next few years I did learn a lot about synthesizers from playing with Bitwig. Amazing.

2014, I used Cakewalk years back and was using the Bandlab version (currently trying/struggling to learn Ableton with the light version I received with my Arturia KB). However, of the paid DAWs out there Bitwig really appeals to me. I keep finding myself watching Bitwig content Even though I don't own it. I would love to get some actual experience with Bitwig now that I'm getting back into music after being away for several years. Keep up the good work and don't feel bad about taking a break. YT burnout is a real thing. I've also noticed that those that do take breaks seem to produce better content.

I’ve had Bitwig since it was first released, coming from both Logic and Ableton. My frustrations with both of them brought me to Bitwig, but Bitwig wasn’t ready in V1 for me. Fast Forward a few years and my same frustration with those two DAWs brought me back to Bigwig at version 3 when it was more than ready. I’ve never looked back. Bitwig does for me what no previous DAw has done… brought back that creative joy of simply creating music and exploring. Bitwig now, Bitwig forever.
