It’s a good try and shows a few tricks n tips in bitwig but sadly it’s not remotely close in how it sounds in plasma. I don’t know if it’s coincidence or what but sometime ago the best feature in logic 11 was released, chromaglow which sounds really cool and kinda what plasma does but without as much dynamic effect and it’s more heavy on low end.

How did you set the bands right? Because of a little overlapping there is still a little boost around the band cuts. If you know what i mean.

You can do a very similar trick to cancel out arbitrary phase shifts introduced by all kinds of plugins, the one everyone likes to talk about is OTT. Feed a dirac spike through OTT, record the result, reverse it, and then feed that into a convolver and place that after the OTT on the signal you want to un-phase-mangle. Since the phase shift (caused by the crossovers of the band split) is constant, you can adjust the OTT to whatever settings you like and the convolution afterwards makes it behave as though those crossovers are linear phase.

Dirac is the music scientist who was the first to take the existing concepts of drums and bass and put them together into one form of music. Hope that helps.

This is also a great way to do Room Corrections. Room EQ Wizzard can Export wav Impuls Responses. No need for ARC or Sonarworks. You just have to know what measurements and corrections make Sense.

What about kicks ive made or edited from presets in Kick 2? If I upgrade, will I lose my kicks from past tunes I’ve made (especially as you mention the the click and sine are layered now rather than sequential)???

Great stuff! - One pet peeve made apparent by such a jumbled spaghetti mess ;) - when i click on an automation out - I CAN'T FIND WHERE IT LEADS! With your pull with the Bitwig folks - make the color of the controls highly contrasted so they are easy to locate! or even better, provide some color options in setup? even a momentary blink option would be fantastic! Anywhoo - loves the effects in this! Eerie, coolness! :D KUDOS

Idea: Zero Crossings output -> Modulator Out -> DC Offset in the FX box of the grid -> Modulator Out driving the DC offset -> Bounce to audio -> Audio file (of the dc offeset of the modulator out of the zero crossings module) back in a sampler in the grid. 💥 I share this not because it's a good idea, but because it might give you an even better idea. Love these thoughts, hope you get well soon. Take care.

FL studio sampler has this feature called pogo... It was a great kick design tool... Its sounds like an attack pitch mod but it was so fast and easy to create new kicks. I wonder if that can be made in bitwig

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but you can recreate the pogo effect by switching the sample to "repitch", adding a start and end warp marker, and then 2 additional warp markers in-between that you move around till it sounds good. I tested this in the Grid, and you can achieve the same result by simply connecting Segments to the Pitch In for the sampler, and adding a Pitch at say C4 into Segments. Then you just move the "segments" around until you get the sound you like. That's 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back testing it for you.

For MIDI triggered kicks, In the sampler attach Segments to the Speed knob in repitch mode. If you want to get real tricky you can use the "Mix" modulator to set a range for your modulation. (Save as default preset for POGO like ease) For direct audio clip kicks, automate the clip pitch in the Edit window. Any time you copy and place that sample the automation will come with it. (Repitch warp mode for highest quality)

The feature that you are talking about in the second half of the video is also available in GeonKick and am astonished how these two plugins are similar. I don't believe that two different people could come up with nearly identical UX for a kick drum generator plugin
