Hey Jay, love your videos. This is fantastic. I am searching for this lens, but can't seem to find one anywhere (except for an exorbitantly priced one on eBay). Any tips for finding one?

Thanks for the review! I think there is another version od this lens specifically for Sonar cameras, and that one allows manual focus as well. I have one like yours, and you just made me realize that this lens works with autofocus as well!

UniHumour glad I could help! And that’s interesting I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Sonar dedicated version.

there are two versions: 119 and 119A. The latter has a small cutout to give room to the little metal tab that moves out of the Sonar cameras when you go into manual focus. I got an SX-70 Sonar that came with the 119 lens, but the Sonar doesn't work, so I used it in manual, and it's been tricky, cause the lens gets pushed forward. But I have just got a couple of SLR 680's, and after your video I realized I CAN use this lens with the working autofocus! 😍

the #119A in Tele lens accessory in your video DOES NOT fit the SLR 680/ 690. In contrast to the SX-70 Sonar, those cameras don't have the little indent in the front of the sonar and flash housing that accommodates the tiny plastic "finger" which tells the camera to use different autofocusing settings with the Tele accessory attached. Why Polaroid deleted that option on the SLR 680/ 690 - I have no idea. For the SLR 680/ 690 one needs the older #119 Tele lens accessory instead, which only works in manual focus mode.

Actually, 119A does fit the SLR 680/690. The "finger" sits right between the camera body and the autofocus housing with no problem. But, as you said, it requires manual focus. I would not recommend the earlier 119 version for the 680/690 because it lacks the recessed notch of the 119A that accommodates the AF switch.

Hi! Quick question, I got this lens this week, when I put it on the camera it seems that the photo is slightly darker than without it ... any advice on this? Thank you
@MorbidJayGames3 жыл бұрын
It shouldn’t be, it’s not supposed to affect the exposure at all. Check to see if maybe the lens attachment is moving the exposure dial when you put it on. If it isn’t then maybe you’ll just need to push the dial to lighten half way

@@MorbidJayGames I checked that , is weird , i think it may be the attachment that is blocking some of the light coming to the light sensor , I’ll give it a try again, thank you! Please post another tutorial!
