In my humble opinion, there is no comparison between the two. I couldn't even watch Outlander after the first season I was so grossed out by the violence and other stuff. I didn't like enough of the characters to even care what happened next. Poldark, otoh, I have watched over and over. It's much more tastefully done, and at least you can understand what everyone's saying. Well, almost everyone. :) And of course, there's Aidan Turner... ::sigh::

I like poldark and outlander equally but in a different way. For outlander you need to warm up a little in the beginning but once you follow the story you want to see more of it. I must admit that with Poldark i was hooked immediately. What i like about poldark is that the story and the characters are so realistic and i love the quiet lifestyle they're living. What i like about outlander is that there are so many unique characters portrayed (like all the members of the mccaenzie clan) by incredibly good actors and the "cozyness" of the characters being together and the humor that comes with it. You become really attached to them. I like demelza's character a lot, though i hope she gets more action and adventure in the next season because i think she deserves a more interesting life than just staying at home and waiting for ross all the time

Thoroughly enjoyed this interview. The first series inspired me to read all twelve Poldark books. I'm really looking forward to Debbie's adaptation of them . Aidan and Eleanor are delightful, but we're all getting a bit bored with the scything issue. He's much too good an actor and it's become a distraction. Also, I hope Masterpiece/PBS will give the U.S. audience the full uncut versions in season 2. I can hardly wait for it to start here!
@wendyscott84258 жыл бұрын
Of course, PBS didn't give us the uncut version, but for the price of a dinner out you can always buy the DVD, which has everything plus some extras. That supports the show and will make sure you can always watch it whenever you like.

Aidan Turner looks kind of like a young Sean Connery crossed with Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan. He's such a MASSIVELY underrated candidate to take the role of James Bond. He's the only candidate who actually looks like 007, is a solid actor who is popular but not too mega famous as to overshadow the character and is right at the perfect age now.
@davidvettes4ever8984 жыл бұрын
I never thought about it but you are exactly right. He would be perfect as Bond. Unfortunately, in today's woke and PC culture he is ineligible as he is white and male.
@DM-kv9kj4 жыл бұрын
@@davidvettes4ever898 Hmm... I don't agree with this rabid reactionary nonsense frankly, mate. In the new movie, Bond retires and a different agent takes his position in the 00 section, the black female role. It's a joke, basically. Bond then has to (again) come back to MI6, obviously this new agent will get killed at some point and Bond becomes 007 again. No black women are becoming James Bond... this is a weird, ignorant and frankly racist knee-jerk reaction to the writers basically just having a poke at racists. They won't turn Bond black or female, there's literally zero evidence whatsoever for this. All this massive hateful reaction to the new trailer is pure ignorance, stupidity and racism and I don't follow with that one bit. James Bond should obviously remain the character he's always been. However, if a black actor did emerge who genuinely had a real James Bond-esque quality, I wouldn't be so against it, IF he really felt like a James Bond and not just a black British actor shoved into the role for the sake of it. What I find far more annoying is the way Daniel Craig has been turned into the most dull, robotic and constantly miserable James Bond ever, and pretty much every one of his movies has the same basic plot.. Bond leaves the service for some reason then has to get called back when some big terrorist turns up. I really likes Casino Royale, though it was too long with some pretty lame action sequences forced in out of fear that dopes would get bored. I felt Craig had real promise, but they just started shaving his head and making him more and more boring. He doesn't look like James Bond , which I have never been able to get over. He looks like some angry, robotic Russian henchman masquerading as 007 and is frankly really stiff and awkward in the role.

I believe the correct term is teal blue. Wikipedia says: "Teal is a deep blue-green color; a dark cyan. Teal gets its name from the colored area around the eyes of the common teal, a member of the duck family." If you google it, you'll see samples that look the same as that dress.
@ernestineanderson33237 жыл бұрын
Carol Stevenson The color to me was more green or a bit turquoise, definately not blue,she must be color blind. Also i was hoping after the whoring all night with Elizabeth Demelza had divorced Rosses worthless,bastard having ass,they tweek scripts and for the fierce character Demelza is (fuck the century) she would be cold blooded and smart enough to serve Rosses ass covertly and intelligently ( Demelza has options) with a iron clad divorce with her and her children getting EVERYTHING the catch being if ROSS IS NOT COMPLIANT THE REASON FOR THE DIVORCE WILL BE MADE PUBLIC. THAT IS THE FU ROSS NEEDS AND DESERVES FOR HIS DISRESPECTING HIS WIFE AND FAMILY.
@ernestineanderson33237 жыл бұрын
Andrew is twisted like his father, the reality is Ross&Elizabeth were two disrespectful bastards that knew exactly what they were doing without an inch of compunction. Debbie is condoning MYSOGINIST behavior, Demelza is no shrinking violet, so stop the BS stupid excuse for adultery resulting in a bastard, Aiden as we hear is as stupid as a rock, he really needs to just shut up, his character is a total pussy chasing,delusional, lieing disrespectful, POS that Demelza should divorce immediately. Aiden is such an idiot I am embarrassed for him, he clearly has NO knowledge of his character, much like Debbie, this series is a marsh pit and that is the reality, the title should be POLDICK ( the life of a MYSOGINIST) smh

Uhh, I hate Ross I've hated him since he cheated on Demelza. She deserved to be with Hugh
@kedisbrow73654 жыл бұрын
Demelza didn’t want Hugh. She was attracted to him and did get lured in when he told her he’d be blind in six months. At the time, she was hurt and angry having just heard Ross had kissed Elizabeth at the church. I thought Hugh was manipulative. Demelza told him not to speak of their time together, yet he did and continued to woo her. When that didn’t work, he told her if she didn’t sleep with him again, it would kill him. Though Demelza was sympathetic towards him, she didn’t yield. Hugh had been a dalliance she regretted. Ross was always her first love, her soulmate.
