A great way to get traction on metal roof. Spray down with a cheap clear soda. Sticky till it rains.

Great build I'm getting ready to start a pole barn just like it hopefully! I think I'll leave the extra 1or 2,000 lbs of nails out though because... you use a lot of nails man. Lol. My dad used to jump my ass he'd say "come on man you need just enough nails, not way too many"... And I was always like "how the hell am I supposed to know how many, I'm new at this!" Good times working with pops! Man i miss him😢

Monitor barns are the nicest. Was thinking when you nailed up the trim on the underside of the door opening, I would have started in the middle to push that bow out to the sides. Not sure that would matter… just what I thought as I was watching. Great job man!

They do sell boots that have magnets in them that are made specifically for metal roofing. Pretty nice boots, but a bit expensive.

Well done, Barn looks outstanding, fit and finish are harmonious and fit well into surroundings, and this adds to overall feel of project. When I watched earlier videos I was not sure you had the skill set needed to finish this project. You have surprised me and deserve congratulations for a job skillfully finished and well designed. Great job on the build. I recently built a 40 x 60 pole barn by myself (I'm 70 yrs old), and I can tell you getting up on that metal roof was a challenge. Getting down was easy when the humidity in the evenings turned to ice. I used 4x4's but it's not holding up to the winds so I'm in process of changing them out to 6x6's. Only 5 more to go....

I put a safety rail at the bottom of my metal roof when I work up there.Is a great comfort and my stuff doesn’t fall off. I found low top rubber muck boots work well to stick on if the roof is dry. I found rubber knee pads that stick too. My knees are bad along with my back. I also made wooden ladders and screwed them in instead of the aluminum ladder. I think I had 9 ladders at one time.

You can use an old couch cushion foam on the roof for added traction. Gives more surface area that creates friction = no exhilarating rides 🤣. Works way better on shingle roofs but helps on metal.

Hello is there anyway I could get plans for this exact bar by 102 year-old barn burned down last week and we are devastated when I saw your video. I knew this is exactly what we wanted to replace it with. I have already sourced my local tree service man who has a bandsaw and I would like plans for this building to keep my material waste down

Work boots are the worst thing for roofing. Old fashion tennis shoes with crepe sole are the best. In Australia we wore Dunlop volleies.

Yes where can I find the Blue Prints for this barn? I am wanting to replace an old barn my grandfather had built years ago. It finally fell down in a heavy wet snow about 10 years ago, and this is perfect. I may extend the length to 60ft though.

I know it's a pole barn, and not the garage you built for your dad, but after covering with the battens are these style barns fairly water tight afterward?
@ProjectDadLife
@ProjectDadLife Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching! I did 16” soffit on this barn as well as 18-20” gable over hangs. So honestly there hasn’t been a lot of rain contact on any of the board or battens yet. But there is about 1-1.5” of overlap on the batten so it’s pretty water tight

Truly informative! I needed a reference that highlighted basic wood frame construction methods & techniques where kzbin.infoUgkxYGamVaHfdHiPlAQaLa7zkwR02OKpGYDU were best. I am pleased with the depth and clarity of Ryan’s Shed Plans. It was really convenient to capture!
