I have the RPS 400 and looking to add a bracket so I can adjust the tilt angle. I can tell the pump kit is well engineered and thought through. In this video you even know that it's 304SS! I'm shocked how many products on the market don't even know what alloy they are using. It's nice to see a quality product. Resist the urge to ever outsource this to a cheaper source! Keep it all in house.

Biggest thumbs up! Excellent instructional video. The design? Equally impressive, particularly those dents holding the extension bars a quarter of an inch or so apart before having to pound on them.

I have a Reogy RNG 100D-Ss panel I want to install on the stern rail and combing of a sailboat. Do you have a single-panel kit that might use a smaller pole?

Our two panel kit uses at 2in (ID) pipe. Thats the smallest we have.

Do you have solar kits for larger panels. I have 250 watt 72 cell panels. I'm looking for a either a 4 panel or 8 panel mount.

Right now our mounts are made for our 100W solar panels. Perhaps in the future they will be compatible with larger panels!

@@RPSSolarPumps I'd like to mount 2 Hanwha Q-Cell 300W G6 or G7 panels and would like to know the length (top to bottom) of the mounting rail so I can determine if my 2 Hanwha panels will work on the 2 panel rack or if I should order the 4 panel rack and cut off the extra rail length I won't need.

Not trying to be too critical but there is a lot of flex for just the two 100W panels. I love that you are using aluminum, but it also does not look like it would hold up to stronger winds with the thicknesses used. Any plans to use heavier gauge aluminum and stainless?

All of our mounts are designed to withstand 81 MPH winds (with margin applied) along with appropriate snow and ice loads per NRCS national requirements. We perform an FEA structural analysis certified by a state licensed mechanical PE to comply with these requirements. We have thousands of mounts out in the field without issues.

RPS Solar Pumps what does “with margin applied” mean? I am asking because I live in an area prone to hurricanes. “Designed to withstand” and other Marketing terms don’t mean much when/if a product fails and expensive solar panels are damaged in the process. Again, I am not trying to be critical or combative , but I would appreciate hearing from actual customers who have purchased these units and had them exposed to higher force winds... then have them advise on their experiences on how the hardware held up. I do appreciate you taking the time to respond. Please understand that I am doing research on solutions for my needs and as such I am trying to filter viable solutions that will last.

@@heart4Pahoa Hmm, not sure I follow. "Designed to withstand" is an engineering term I used almost daily in my decade of aerospace engineering. Trust me, marketing used much more elegant and flasher descriptions! The mount is rated for 81 MPH wind loads. If you are going to experience winds higher than that on a regular basis, probably should see if anyone else offers a higher rated mount.

RPS Solar Pumps Thanks again for your quick responses and for taking the time to clarify. As you suggested, I will continue to hunt for PV mounts and see what I can find based on my location being subject to hurricanes. Good luck to you and yours.

No we do not. However our 4 panel mount can go on a 4x6 wooden post but you will need to purchase longer bolts.

Are there caps for the end of the rails to prevent bees and wasps from building nests inside?
@RPSSolarPumps
@RPSSolarPumps 4 жыл бұрын
Hmm, interesting point. We have not had any issues with wasps making nests in the rails, as the openings are pretty small. I am sure you can add some sort of cover if it is an issue in your area!
