About the cramped driver seat sensation, I would say that the design is well considered by Polestar and really creates a feeling of being part of the machinery with all commands and controls close to the driver just like a pilot. A good thing that you will find on Volvos and i guess Polestar too and not on any other cars is that on the back of the rails for the front seats you will find metal loops for which to hook up non isofix seat straps which then makes it possible to fit child seats (we use rear facing child seats until the child is at least 4 years in Sweden because it’s safer) that take much less space than the bulky isofix ones. There is also hooks for straps in the footwell on the front passenger side aswell as (optional on some models) isofix for the front seat. As a father of 3 i dearly miss this in my Tesla… there are third party solutions but they are not safety approved. Volvo makes the easiest cars to live with when you have small kids.

Dear Thomas Ingenlath, 1- That piece of plastic around the center console is really unnecessary and is in the way. I did a test drive in Polestar 2 for one hour. I have long legs and my knee was pressing against that plastic thing. 2- The gear selector does not need that much space. 3- The vertical screen is not a good solution, because the driver needs to look down to see it. Make the screen horizontal like Tesla and move it upward. That would free up space in the front. However, I am not sure if the Google operating system is optimized for horizontal screens.

It is easier to drive in tight spaces. 3- 360 cameras in Polestar are very handy when parking. 4- Polestar has an instrument cluster in front of the driver which does not exist in Model 3. 5- Polestar has slightly more ground clearance compared to Model 3, 15 cm vs 14 cm. 6- Polestar has a more stylish exterior design.

I just test drove the 2023 AWD Polestar 2. I really really wanted to love the car. The drive itself was great but I will be looking elsewhere for one huge reason.. the lack of driver seat comfort. I felt really cramped the entire time. There is very little room for your legs to move side to side.. and when I am stuck in traffic or on a long drive, I like to rest my non driving leg. Not in this car. I also don’t like the control buttons on the door. I had to reach back a little to use them.. not comfortable at all and only having one drink holder since the second one is all but useless means my passenger would have to hold their drink on a long trip. There are some other little dislikes such as hitting my head each time I enter and exit the vehicle. If I am going to pay that much money for a new EV, I want every aspect of the car to feel comfortable. If this car was priced like a Chevy Bolt, I could learn to live with these drawbacks but not where the price is currently. I so wanted to buy this car. 😢
