The kW charging read out is part of the latest OTA update, so all Polestar's have this now (assuming it's been updated)

The last video with the dual motor had a notification about an OTA-update. Had you (or the owners) done that you would have had kW when charging in that one as well, plus "optimised motors". Probably a little better consumption. :)

Kris, awesome review 👍 I also test drove the Polestar 2 ... I will post that video soon as well, I do agree the interior trim material selection and the way it’s put together feels real nice! Close to my Audi eTron ... the major let down of the interior for just about anyone in the USA is the design of the interior, the interior layout just will not work for many people in the USA .. that maybe why last month (June) Polestar did not sell not even one vehicle in the US.. crazy .. also the base Polestar 2 is like $59k with the base interior material that does not look or feel that good. still overall I really like this car with the upgraded interior Materials and Exterior design is really nice too it’s like a lifted off-roader car, that would work well in the back country too etc.. just the one major interior design issue.. people in the USA love have very well placements of cup holders, cell, etc..and a open center console design more space and easy to access things in the console goes alone way as we drive long distance so often and or spend loads of time in traffic on short drive etc.. so eating while driving is very common. Anyways awesome review the Polestar 2 is a real nice ride I like it 👍 .. only major let down is the interior layout where you spend most of your time .. hope they listen to people who do these reviews and make that correction as well .. they need a totally new IP design.. and their starting price for the base Polestar 2 needs to drop $15k to be closer to its competition in the US. BTW I don’t know if this in the same for you but the base interior material use does not feel as good, you have to upgrade the interior material for the premium feel cost only $4k in the US but the base was not feel or look as good .. the upgraded interior felt and look awesome except for the layout.

If it is, then the range on motorway at winter will be terrible..:/?!Since its on crm-plattform as XC40 it should be a very small car? i don't understand polestar pricing at all... the difference in price is too low for anyone to choose anything other than dual motor. And also if you want the neccessary heatpump and adaptive cruise control you have to choose both packages, pilot and the plus package. So to me it seems like polestar don't want to sell anything else than the dualmotor with the two packages pilot and plus.
@dexmex59693 жыл бұрын
Thats also i thing that im kind of pissed on, that u have to get like both those packages 👎 Synd för det är en jävligt nice bil i övrigt

@KasperHosltOvergaard3 жыл бұрын
The pilot and plus package was only standard in the 2021 dual motor. Kind of a introduction package. In the 2022 model, the 2 packages are not standard in the dual motor any longer. So if you want the pilot and plus package, the add-on price is the same for the single motor (std or long range) as it is for the dual motor.
@marcuslejona3 жыл бұрын
my point is placing neccessary equipment like heatpump and adapative cruise in two different packages which add an extra 80.000 sek eq $8000... that is like buying a new tv set without remote -such basics should be included at no extra cost.

it's stiffer with the performance package, if you don't do any spirited driving and just go A-B then avoid it :) Polestar is doing a tour in Sweden and perhaps some other countries too, try and find one without said performance package (which is the one i reserved, LR AWD with 'plus' package)

@@Gdank72 no it’s Not. It gots a slight facelift in the newer model and a few fixes just to say. I was able to find them at a Polestar dealer. For example the logo on the steering wheel is changed. And I am guessing that Polestar had made some optimizations on the charging curve and maybe even on the cell chemistry to improve durability and range a little bit.
@RU-qv3jl3 жыл бұрын
Whilst this is a decent review, the peak the charging is not really relevant. The charging curve is far more important. If that has not changed since earlier versions of car/battery/software then this is still too slow charging to be useful to me. I was hoping that a video with “Charging Test” in the title might have the charging curve or a charging session. Sadly that was not the case.

The BMW lx3, on an ICE SUV plateform, can do around 330 km on the Highway with a 125 km/h average speed. Imagine what the BMW i4 will be capable of. The Polestar 2 has great looks, a fine interior and a practical infotainement system. Should one choose based on those criteria (and price) alone, it would be a better choice than the i4 or a Tesla 3, but range is severly lacking, even with this ”long range” configuration. Too bad. I’m waiting for the first ”real” electric Lexus in 2022, anyway, hoping it won’t be too much of a SUV...

What the hell are you on about? It got 350km, not 280km... and this is also the old model, hence the video was uploaded more than 3 years ago. The current one with RWD will get close to 450km. FWD for an EV??? Why? Here in Canada BMW just announced the i4 40 priced at 55k. The Polestar 2 AWD is 71k. Making a FWD car for an EV that doesn't need to save the drive shaft for RWD I just wouldn't buy this given the price of the BMW or the VW ID 4 AWD. It's a shame they've over priced this car like that. And FWD? Ewww.

I agree and hi from Montreal. The AWD will apparently make it here later this year, but i turned this down because interior configuration is tight and dark, cargo space is in par with the Tesla 3 (sedan), and the price is super high. It’s because of safety reasons. FWD is preferable to RWD in colder climates with snow and ice on the roads. Volvo does the same to offer only FWD or AWD. www.scherervolvocars.com/blog/2018/march/5/automotive-guide-fwd-or-rwd-drivetrains.htm

A lot of the new 2WD electric cars use a rear engine.
@Rasmushed3 жыл бұрын
@@MasterChief37 well, your experience doesn’t change the facts that cars with FWD causes less harmful accidents than cars with RWD. The science is clear on this issue and that is why Volvo (and Polestar) has taken this stance. AWD is the most safe version but when two wheel drive is offered it will be FWD for that reason and that has always been their priority. You said that FWD makes no sense but it clearly makes more sense in all matter but in one, namely driving experience.
