Played this at Speedzone at City of Industry/ Puente Hills in their arcade. Liked the motion sensor to aim and dodge, but jeez this game is a killer to your legs, even if you made lots of squats.

Ah yes, produced by Shigenobu Matsuyama, who also produced Silent Scope. This game reuses assets from Silent Scope like one of the boss death sounds from Silent Scope 2. And the music was by Jimmy Weckl who also wrote the music for Silent Scope

@Typical Denizen Modern graphics, a less arcade feel since this is an arcade game, no time limit, a better AI for the hostile characters to make them more difficult than this robot-like AI, bigger soundtrack list than this one, an expansion of the storyline to give it more of an adventure feel, more weapons to use like in Time Crisis, and a multiplayer option like Time Crisis 2-5.

Underrated shooting arcade game. However, the time in this game is madly unforgiving, harder than Time crisis. No matter how many life bonuses you earn, the time is the real problem that forces players to make a speedrun.

I can totally see this being remade for VR at least. The one thing that always impressed me was how "realistic" the enviroments were compared to other light gun games out at the time (they really nailed their version of late 90's Los Angeles). The fact you have to move around to dodge rounds was ahead of its time, same goes for the boxing game they also put out. Apparently, the progression of events is also reversed in the JP version - you chased that particular Yakuza clan out of Japan and mop them up in LA.

Big cashgrab, the game gives you a false sense of safety with those 102 lives, if you run out of time, you get an instant continue and resume with 3 lives, not to mention that the clock is always ticking, and it gets worse if you lose a life, since there's a slow cutscene of you getting floored

I remember playing at the arcade and sucked so bad at it. It was a fun experience tho. Then, i managed to find a ps2 copy and played the hell out of it. One thing i don't like is how brutal the game can be. The remaining time did not reset to the original time limit when you move to the next level, instead you have to fight with what remains of your time. Eventually, forcing you to use a continue which is really ridiculous. Come on, i like a challenging game but this one is straight up unfair. I rather have the time takes away my life instead of making me use a continue. Then again, i am bad at this game so i could be wrong about the time extension thingy.

Using a PS2 emulator you can use your webcam to get the arcade experience. Not sure if guns are compatible yet.

Oh, boy. Unfortunately, I have bad memories from this game. I went to an arcade where they happened to have this, and I really hated police at the time (as a side note, I went off when I was forced to go see the first Fast And The Furious in theaters [Yes, I am showing my age here] at the police scene and the staff [I lived in a group home at the time] had to remove me from the theater) and I saw the attract mode and the scene at 0:46 and I went off in the building, saying, *GET OFF, PEOPLEHATERS, GET OFF!*, which scared the living shit out of a father and young daughter that was playing a motorcycle game right next to the arcade, and the staff got on me real bad and led me away to the van. Anyway, that's my story with this game.

Looking back, I'm disappointed that Konami didn't think to port this, Warzaid, or even the Silent Scope games to the Wii. This could have worked with the Wiimote to aim and shoot and the Nunchuck to move and take cover.
