One of the greatest / best arcade game (and one of the most innovative [according to Game Machine magazine plus Famitsu on PS2 port] yet short-lengthened light gun game) ever made from Konami, since the start of the Millenium (2000) and before the 21st Century.
Now, it's been 20 years (so as 2 decades), and finally we're here at last! Similar to Thrill Drive 2's OST, this is powered on Konami Viper system - one of their lastly made custom PCB to be "classified". Although, there are some "consistently lucky" arcade collectors and technicians across the globe that are still going pretty well despite the test of time on these games nowadays, atleast too, in the Internet.
And yes, I extracted the sound files that are originally found from the arcade source (originally as a .chd file - using Audacity to import as raw data) before the PlayStation 2 port was released at that time, although they're the same, except some additional songs made in the PS2 as bonus parts (in Extra Game, for instance).
Here's my valuable tips / hints: (In case you didn't go through my channel via Discussion tab / section about it yet)
1. .chd files should be extracted into "your own output file" (e.g. from a41b02.chd to "something like - thrilld2.xwb or whatever you would like to name it") using chdman that is located on your MAME directory (or as applicable anywhere as long as you know where it is), as long as there are sound files into your desired operation. Otherwise, it won't even work at all if going straight to extract raw data from fresh .chd file(s).
2. Open Audacity (recommended), then click File ➡️ hover to Import ➡️ Raw Data ➡️ "find your output file on the MAME directory that you did before".
3. Try using "VOX ADPCM", once after it reads successfully or finishes loading. Take note: VOX ADPCM is useful only to find BGM or music files while Signed / Unsigned PCM takes you only the sound effects at your own desired sample rate. Also, this only works on ALL Konami Viper games at least I experimented with Thrill Drive 2 (which means I don't even know to other systems and from other VG companies in the past). Another thing, sadly though, it doesn't work on other files and only supported at Mono channel, so you may experiment it at your own risk.
4. I don't have any idea why (and how) Konami did this for a very long time, but perhaps, they're known for their "highest complexity" of work so that if someone's reverse-engineering, would be totally "pain in the ass" in the first place.
*So far so good, this should be the very first OST cover of Police 911 / Police 24/7 / The Keisatsukan to be displayed not just only in Japan, but worldwide (ala Mr. Worldwide) on KZbin. And let this "greatest" opportunity to pass on, since the first Thrill Drive's soundtrack (2018) from now and onwards. Good luck and please enjoy this fresh OST, only from Konami!

There's something magical about 90s arcade games, especially shooters. The soundtrack really gives you a feeling of urgency, a feeling that you, the player, an officer of the law have a duty that'd decide the fate of most, every action counts and every mistake costs.

Wow some of the officer down animations are really brutal, especially the in-car death. combined with the "doing bad" music Konami loved it sounds surprisingly violent even to GTA games.

Yes! More arcade OSTs at this time though. However, _in case of having hard time doing this job, especially on Audacity, then no worries - I'll put here on the Comments section for the original source file(s) for extensive technical assistance, aside from myself. Because there are sound files that purely not 100% audible + having down-sided issues [as tested on some Konami Viper games including Code One Dispatch, Tsurugi and GTI Club: Corso Italiano on Audacity], I am pretty sure that I need additional help from you guys, just in case of needing support, and I'll be very happy to do so._ So as of these objectives before posting here on KZbin: 1. Making sure that the whole OST is *almost 101% crystal clear and little-to-none audio problems* when carried out. 2. Once being separately fine, they'll put into videos like you've just watched and previewed where they are located (or anything I would put into). 3. In case of requested to have separate audios, then no problem - expect to give your email address and do the right job to finish very soon as possible. So yeah, thanks for your great compliments, you guys are still awesome to me and God bless you all!

You're always welcome, bro. Sadly, I cannot find any additional footage (of the original arcade cabinet - with complete gameplay) aside from yours, since that's the best-of-the-rest video that I've ever seen (with that fastest near 7 minute overall time! Thus, that deserves you a medal). 🤟🤟 By the way, in case you noticed, I put a comment there some years ago (complimenting about that gameplay), but due to being "temporarily deactivated" my KZbin account, there went gone, whoosh... Anyways, thanks for the memories and I'm glad that your channel isn't dead yet (that I shocked that you commented that day, and your last video was 5 years ago)!

I remember playing this game back at an AMC theater/swapmeet I used to visit as a kid, dumping quarters on this game and House Of The Dead 4.

Yeah, it's quite disappointing, but at least, he worked with his colleagues and friends at that time, and went memorable as well to us from his works. So as this saying goes: "Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened." - Dr. Seuss

It truly appeared in both OG Thrill Drive (1998) and Thrill Drive 2. Yet, possibly its first appearance was Silent Scope (same year as OG Thrill Drive did) - especially the American police cars at that time, if I'm not mistaken.

Guess you have won the "scriptwriting memory" contest, pal! Congrats from your transcribed work! Also, the Japanese ones is literally spoken in (of course) "their native language", by the late Nobuo Tanaka [田中信夫] (a very known Japanese announcer and voice actor - e.g. Dio in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure [1993], The Three Musketeers Anime [1987 - as Richelieu] and many others), worked from 1958 until he peacefully passed away in October 17, 2018 (aged 83 - caused by esophageal cancer); imagine for 60 years or 6 decades very long! This is actually based on Japanese Wikipedia: ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%94%B0%E4%B8%AD%E4%BF%A1%E5%A4%AB

I was reading the description and i was like: Wait, you used only the CHD to import it as RAW Data for Audacity? Because i was wanting to know how to rip Arcade music from CHD files.
@TASTomusan
@TASTomusan 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, indeed. I used that method highly possible, thanks to Video Games Esoterica - the link can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5WbhYx7pdR9paM (from .chd file to .bin / .cue; or as your own file extension you definitely know. You may watch it, if you like.) Remember that importing on a .chd file to your desired choice (e.g. Signed 16-bit PCM + 100% extraction + 44000 hz sample rate + Default endianness), won't work at all, to tell you the truth as early as possible. I tried VOX ADPCM, and it got *"too magical expectations"* for me, as the "first-guy-discoverer". However though, I suspect other games from Viper system that are having "grueling" / problematic issues such as GTI Club 2: Corso Italiano, Tsurugi / Blade of Honor, World Combat / Warzaid, Boxing Mania: Ashita No Joe, Code One Dispatch and some others (almost all of them tried in Audacity, but yeah that's what happened that shouldn't be in the first place for some mysteriously unknown reasons) after being imported via Raw Data, unfortunately. I'll give the source files link here soon enough, for those who are interested to work along (fixing the issues that can "see for yourself"). Due to that valid reason, maybe after Jurassic Park III (3) upload here on YT (before 2020 ends), I'll give myself a lot of break for a while on that. And I think that's all to say, for now. Thanks for your comment and was appreciated!

Yeah, but the main source (via .chd or .iso) isn't out there yet (dumped, to be used in an arcade emulator) in the Internet. In other words, let's be patient until its final confirmation about that release. Right now, Lethal Enforcers 3 (or Seigi No Hero) is only physically available with or without the dedicated cabinet, and the digital ones are yet to come soon.

Well, if I have some time then no problem (although take note that only Bonus parts are only to be uploaded, since the original music files are from the arcade version indeed. Unfortunately, I tried on Audacity (as police247.iso - the European version of Police 911) - as in importing Raw Data (both Unsigned and Signed 8 and 16-bit PCM), yet it might not work to don't expect so.
