Police officers of the National Crime Agency and Paramedics of the Hazardous Area Response Team train on winching operations from a military spec Westland Sea King belonging to HeliOperations.
HeliOperations (HeliOps) provide training in Search and Rescue, Med Evac, Night Vision Imaging, and other air and ground crew services. HeliOps are contracted to provide training to the Ministry of Defence (MoD), emergency services, and other organisations, both Government and private.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) is a national law enforcement agency of the UK specialising in serious and organised crime, cybercrime, weapons, human and drug trafficking, and financial crimes, and can also be called upon to investigate other crimes. Officers working as a team may be required to abseil from a helicopter in order to execute a mission, as seen in this video.
Hazardous Area Response Teams (HART) are groups of highly specialised paramedics belonging to each regional ambulance service of the UK, such as the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) NHS Trust. HART paramedics are inserted into hot zones, which may be done via helicopter, to treat patients while a threat is still active, e.g. active shooting, chemical release, collapsed structure, flooding and other large scale disasters or terrorism.
HeliOps operate several Sea King military helicopters out of their base at the former Royal Naval Air Station Portland (HMS Osprey), which is still frequently used by military. These Sea Kings, formerly belonging to the Royal Navy and still registered as military aircraft, will be going to Ukraine. HeliOps have acquired a Leonardo Helicopters AW139 as a Search and Rescue replacement.
This Sea King, leased by the MoD and registered as XV666, is called Damien.

Being retired SAR and Commando medic I have had a lot of fun rapid roping, abseiling and being winches up and down from. The sealing especially on navy 177 /rescue 177

That sounds like a lot of fun. I think a lot of humans desire suspending in the air as if a hovering bird, definitely fun. Luckily, there are lots of photos of Rescue 177, lovely aircraft!

Clue is in the name! Their remit covers the entire country so they could be needed in any location, including places better accessed by helicopter such as on boats and ships!

Good example that, actually. While executing warrants and apprehending dangerous subjects / confiscating evidence such as drugs, weapons... etc. they may have to winch down onto a ship.

What is rappelling.?

Rappelling is also called absaling and it's when you descend a rock face with a harness and a rope tied to a point above you. The people in this video are actually "winching" from the helicopter because they're being lowered through the air instead of walking down a slope. But it's a technicality. Both are methods of descending from height using rope.

That’s not a military helicopter. Used to be about 10 years ago then the RAF lost search and rescue.
