The officer makes a good point when saying that the pier boardwalk is made out of wood. Therefore, having heat or fire fall on it can deteriorate or destroy such a structure. It is best to keep the pier boardwalk clean and safe from fire hazard. Good job officers!

Likely they're not owned by the people breaking the law there. I've noticed a ton of identical carts from different people, and I think there's gotta be someone near the pier renting them out. So you just go buy groceries and propane/ice (depending on your fare,) show up, rent a cart, and head to the pier.

I lived in the Los Angeles area for well over a decade, I have since moved. The first few months I was in the Los Angeles area myself and several friends would frequent the clubs, outside one particular club there was a street vendor selling those sizzling hotdogs and onions. We each bought one, it smelled and tasted good. Then the next morning all hell broke loose. We were sick beyond belief, I got the worse of it. I had crap coming out all ends for almost a week. I spent a day in the hospital on IV's. Lost about 10 lbs. I fully understand why there is enforcement, in my opinion there isn't enough enforcement. It appears that illegal street vendors are targeted in areas like Santa Monica.

All of these taco stands and carts are untaxed incomes, stocked with state sponsored food stamps, then the money is sent out of country. No vendors on the pier can use butane so even if they get the permit it won’t work. Plus the health codes being violated for the food not being at proper temperature. So there just doing illegal biz thinking it’s ok because it’s not serious.

The Los Angeles area is huge, and for the same vendors to be coming repeatedly shows disregard and disrespect to the rules.
