Sad that LT didn't mention the coolest feature of the rear lighting on FHP cruisers: Hitting the brakes changes many or all of the rear lights into brake lights. You can see it @19:49 in the video that the brake has been pressed. I just find that to be one of the coolest things to come out in emergency lighting in a while.

I'm a retired Iowa police officer, Asst. Chief. I got an unmarked black 5.7 charger as a chase vehicle, I was so impressed I bought a SRT a week later (Still have it Bee #798). Best cop cars EVER, Be safe Lt & thank you.

As a Cali native thanks for sharing this video, brings me back to 2017 when i used to be a chp motor officer in the san diego area now retired. I left that once beautiful state after 28 years on patrol and now currently reside in Fort Myers FL. A nephew of mine works for the fhp in Fort Myers and he absolutely loves it.

The emergency light placement on that FHP Challenger is very responsible. It's not blinding, distracting and confusing to other drivers on the road like many (most) local agency vehicles.

I have a 2018 Charger pursuit 5.7 rwd that was a FHP marked unit. I love it. I love how it drives and handles. And most of all I’m almost 50 years old and over 6’ tall and I’m in love with exactly how much room the drivers seat has. This is the best daily driver that I’ve ever owned. Now I officially own my 3 favorite cars (or at least the only 3 I can afford lol). 18 dodge charger 93 Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 (seen in my thumbnail) 85 Buick Grand National But I love the FHP charger. Best daily driver I ever owned.

Awesome machine, I've always thought the FHP/Florida Highway Police have the coolest/best looking paint schemes in the whole country, much better looking then my state of Louisiana state police kind of basic all white. Their cars just look mean, those colors really blend in beautifull, plus the different color schemes really stick out nicely. Gorgeous Challenger. Very cool video! 👍

I was a LEO in North Florida for 16 years and worked some with FHP and we were kinda rivals too but I can say they are some of the most PROFESSIONAL people out there. Yeah I know you hate them cause you got a ticket (talking to the one that will bash this post) but you never see them in uniform at Walmart or buying a sixpack at 7/11. Even when you are being pulled over they don't get all emotional when writing you up they just stick to the facts. Watch the pursuits out there when caught they stay in check compared to some of the drama elsewhere. Rant over ;

I was with my dad in my gram’s car after my dad ended up putting his 2015 Buick LaCrosse CXL in my gram’s garage following a car vs trailer reversing MVA in which he trusted his rear facing camera when reversing and slammed into a trailer, blowing his rear window out, resulting in a car not legal on the road. We were traveling home from a college football game when the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) pulled out behind us and lit us up. Turns out we were doing 71 in a 55, but the trooper was honest and my dad was honest and we got backed down to 60 in a 55 and my dad got no license points and no ticket on his driving record. Just a citation for 60 in a 55. $151 for speeding. My dad got a little devious and dipped into his business bank account for the payment and funneled the same amount into his business bank account from his personal bank account.

I have to say living in South FL the new light package on FHP's cars are super bright!!! There aint no way you're going to say I didn't know or see the lights. Bright ASF!!! Nice color palette love how they looks one of the better looking state cars IMO.

You should down to Texas. The Texas DPS (Dept. Of Public Safety/Highway Patrol) has a 2020 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye in their fleet. It’s pretty cool how they confiscated it then turned it into a Pursuit Vehicle. That would be neat to go check out.

I used to build police cars for Maricopa County Sheriff's Department in AZ. The one thing I was disappointed in was they all had stock motors. The worst ones I built were the Tahoes, they were dogs, ridiculously slow and only got slower with the added equipment.

I really like the setup that FHP cars have inside. and I understand that they need that equipment to do there job BUT if I had lets say equipment in my own vehicle they would give me a ticket because it Obstructs my view or it Distracts you from your driving. Depending on when the Lieutenant started with FHP. Ask him to draw an accident diagram free hand. Back in the day the Troopers always had the best free hand diagrams. As a former city officer . I had an excellent experience riding with several troopers that I knew . From troop D.

I think the blue light only like the Florida Highway Patrol uses should becom3 over time standard for all police cars nationwide,like in the UK and EU. The transition can be done over the next 10 to 15 years as police depts across the nation replace old out dated emergency lights.

Pa state troopers pay 65k to start but you can be making easily close to 100k+ within 3-5 years where most local cops start at 55-65k and cap out at like 80k after 6 years of service. Not to mention state police usually has better gear, vehicles, advancement opportunities and training.

FLHP Troop C I think had these 392 Challengers first.. I started seeing them Tallahassee on east as a trucker.. Ocassionally see them in Pensacola, FL where I live. Being a trucker and a 2019 Mustang GT owner.. History of Highway patrol like California and Florida owning 5.0 Mustangs is love at first site!.. Seen a foxbody 5.0 MustangAlabama State Trooper chasing a Porsche near Birmingham, AL..Man that was a good chase! Porsche was few miles ahead in 1990s!!
