I watched it closely on many livestreams. The protestors were clearly warned to leave the area or they may be arrested. The cops then moved forward and didn't proceed to arrest everyone though they did not leave. The cops pushed the group to clear the area and many in the group actively pushed back. What did they expect? Did they think these hundreds of cops would just say, "oh well we tried, let's go home". The cops pushed forward of course as were their orders. Every single person pushing back deserved to be arrested at that point. The few that got sprayed were very lucky to get off so easy. You people act like they were smashing skulls when all the cops showed great restraint. It was ugly yes, but stop blaming the cops. Blame the dummies who were in the way.

They have already been dispersed. People are already going home...those that remain, will be dragged off to jail here and there and pushed further out of downtown until eventually...the dispersion is sufficient enough that people just start going home. Crowd control 101: No one really wants a baton upside the head...they will retreat.

I make jest of every 'bone headed goof' driven situation as they present themselves, mostly cause I'm a despicable straight white male who drinks too much. But this situation scares me. I am an immigrant to the US from Canada who saw domestic Canadian authoritarian policies taking root over 30 years ago, starting with the 'Oka Quebec crises in the late 1980's, see. So as soon as I got me grade 9 and the socialist far leaning left dictatorship went unnoticed by the working class, I left Canada and legally immigrated to the USA. My father had become an American citizen, I had a green card, I recieved a VISA and then I married an American. Under Trump I ended up spending 15 months in a federal detention center because of a discrepancy with my VISA, (Note: this is not a jab or a slight at Trump or American Immigration Policies). Rather than go back to Socialist overly taxed 'left leaning' Canada, I chose to face this challenge where I struggled through a process that was rigid and uncaring, my goal was to preserve the privilege's afforded to me in a truely free democracy that has a constitution, the USA. (Canada does'nt really have a constitution pertaining to individual rights) Think about that, my fight for freedom in the USA was worth being locked up for over a year of my life, while I worked through my immigration problems from behind bars, rather than go back to what has now become a 'scary not so watered down' copy of 1938 Germany. Folks everywhere need to be weary of what is going on in Canada at the moment. Elon made the comparison here in this video, I will take it a step further. In 1938 Germany, police men had a choice to make. I believe some may have been good men who chose to do nothing other than follow orders and make the arrests, as dictated to by 'the Leader', or if you prefer, 'Der Fuher' of those who the state felt were ripe for exploitation or because they were inferior. Doors were kicked in and windows were shattered as the lambs were led by the sheeple. In 2022 Canada, police men and women had a choice to make. I believe some may have been good men and women, who chose to do nothing other than follow orders and make the arrests, as dictated to by 'the Leader', or if you prefer, 'Der Fuher' of those who the state felt were ripe for exploitation or because they were inferior. Doors were kicked in and windows were shattered as the lambs were led by the sheeple...
