Police couldn’t stop her from playing Coffin Dance on Violin

I was performing "Coffin Dance" (Astronomia) on Venice Beach for the first time. Suddenly Police came up. They stopped my street performance, because I wasn’t supposed to be playing at that spot. I didn't know that. I am glad the policeman Richardson gave me the chance to finish this song.

Law Enforcement is exactly that. The officer doesn't make the laws. He doesn't decide if they are good or bad laws. It's just his job to enforce them. I'm sure the reason he's being pretty easy-going about the matter is because this is a pretty wholesome event involving a kid that he's busting up. There was probably a complaint, maybe from one of the vendors... so he's just there TO DO HIS JOB

Are you serious? Do you really think it’s hard to dance and play a musical instrument. How about a martial artist using nunchuck and doing forms at the same time? Or how is it humanly possible to run and dribble a basketball or catch a football. The dancing just gets you more fired up, more enthusiastic. Obviously this girl has some real talent, but it’s not really amazing that she can dance while playing. The amazing part is just being able to play the violin like that.

This is a great example of how music is an expression of freedom, even if there are designated areas where you're allowed to express that freedom in America. Can't believe a cop came down the road with a siren on if there were a murder or robbery, how disgraceful to tell the young girl that they have to move on.
