I was viewing an apartment once about 12yrs ago, the owner/landlords were husband and wife, and the wife was showing the apartment. Once I arrived, she called her husband & told him she was showing the apartment to me, by name, and she'd check back within half hour. I thought that was pretty smart - I've been alone in empty houses with some female realtors before & always considered what a risk they take. I actually got her to take a pic of my driver's license & email it to her husband, which she did. I wanted them to feel at ease & I really wanted the apartment - and got it. Realtors, male or female, should adopt bodycam tech to protect themselves. Stream all private showings to a secure server in case something happens. Or, at least have a panic button.

As a fellow senior .. let's get this straight. I remember taking some wee pride when Canada hit the 15 million mark.. so I was aware of 13 and 14. The per cent of BIG CITY dwellers was a fraction of today. We are at 40 million now. My family tree roots are in MASS migration. 1780 to 1810 .. Loyalists, refugees from the US Revolution. So many that they separated Nova Scotia to create New Brunswick for them, They divided Canada into Upper and Lower to accommodate Loyalists in Upper Canada. Then a mass migration of Irish and Scots Irish and Scots. In the Laurier years .. 1896 to 1911 .. the great wave of Ukrainians and Poles was no match for the wave of English. So large that the Canadian Army was mostly English born lads who arrive here at 2 or 7 or 11 or 14 years. The Canadian Army in WWI did not have a Canadian born majority until the first wave of Brits had taken the heavy toll... 1917. I do not know who you are. but if you are not indigenous native Cdn, the odds are likely that your ancestors arrived in a mass migration ... and if not.. then you are the unicorn, black swan.. the exception. Can we assume that when you say MASS MIGRATION .. you are trying to say NON WHITE ,, NON EUROPEAN ? Murder was rarer in a smaller country with a smaller population. But it was awash in mass migration. Remember all the British and Scots accents in the streets of Toronto in our school days ? As a senior you can probably remember when a lot of people were bigots.. Catholic / Protestant. English speaking and French...and some of that bigotry persists to this day doesn't it Mr User -hk
