This is known as a Long Guard. When His Majesty is not resident in London, the Guard is reduced to two Non-Commissioned Officers and ten Troopers. This is known as a Short Guard. The ceremony of Changing The King’s Life Guard then takes place on Horse Guards Parade at 11:00am. On weekends, The King’s Life Guard remains in place at Horse Guards Parade, where the duty officer will inspect them at 1100am on Saturdays and 1000am on Sundays. During most of the day the entrance to Horse Guards is guarded by two mounted sentries. After the duty officer has inspected them at 4:00pm, all personnel, mounted and dismounted, will come off duty for the day. When to Watch • Changing of The King’s Life Guard at 11:00am (Monday - Friday) • The Duty Officer's Inspection at 1100 on Saturdays and 1000 on Sundays • Two mounted sentries guard the entrance to Horse Guards on Whitehall from 10:00am until 4:00pm. Thank you! For capturing the awesomeness. Of the Gatesman who is sometimes. Seen in the guard boxes. Recently, he has been coined By another well known KZbinr as the Gatesmanator. I just luv his marching stance. So precise and quick. Like a man on a mission. He's the only Royal Guard. That can walk in those boots. Without looking uncomfortable.. The awesomeness of the police officer/Life Guard in the left box is undeniable.❤️❤️💂‍♀️💂‍♀️👮‍♂️👍👍

I'm American & love watching the guards, their horses etc. But the rudeness, ignorance & defiance displayed by the tourists gives me such anxiety! 😅 Why can't people just abide by the rules?! I think if the guards would keep telling people to stay behind the line it would be helpful!

Just 5 hrs. ago .. 1 guard is busy letting 3 kids rub away the horse’s face & everyone else after that goes ahead & does the same.. it gives me anxiety.. no wonder some horses cracked up like Ormande & Arnie biting everyone including their guards

The lady with the red hair was very annoying. She clearly knew and intentionally broke the rules because she told the woman who was shouted at that she had to stay outside of the line. What an idiot. And then thought it was cute when the guard reprimanded her. No class, whatsoever.

It was so much simpler many years ago BEFORE the internet and mob phones were invented. Back then they would have to use camera with a roll of film then pay for them to be developed. Bring those days back, won't be half and a quarter of this toxic toddlers throwing their toys out of playpen if they had to PAY for them and in most cases took up to a week or more depending on how busy the developers were? They have'nt got the patience to stand and wait to hsve it taken there as it is, they would be climbing the walls when photos came back either all black or with heads and other appendages missing, only getting horses legs on them, or dumb a55 Chinese clowns jumping Into their photo in what I reckon you gen z lot saying is photo bombing someone elses snaps. End up with stupid squashed face and their relative totally missed altogether. The good old days Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

As some of these guards are incapable of keeping the M O D rules. It might be better to get brilliant police officers ( like the one shown here with that group of disrespectful tourists) to stand by the gate in order to correct this over site by a WHIMPY KID GUARD who would rather chill to the smirkers getting their picture. It is such a shame when guards do not follow their duty . I sincerely hope that when on the FRONT line they do not have a CHILL moment & say " Nah cannot be bothered today " Will not go down very well with head office .

You see the problem really isn’t the tourist because they are like children. Ooooh they see a shiny breast plate, a pointy helmet and a horsey and they just have to get close in touch. The problem is with the trooper who is unbelievably ignoring the crowd right under his horse in the box. To me that is gross negligence of duty and he should be removed and fired instantly. This isn’t just an episode of somebody stepping over the line, This is turning a blind eye to protecting your horse and the parameters set forth. Shame on the British army for allowing this.

The problem is that the guard wouldn't open his mouth! This isn't the MOD officers responsibility, it's the guards! Hope the guard took note of how to easily do his job! Thank you to this officer for caring about the horse!! The guard on the left side is following rules, protecting his horse, and the one on the left couldn't give a rat's behind what the tourists do to his horse!! Many of the tourists that the guard on the left told to get back, you'll now find them inside the box on the right being allowed to pet the horse!! Ridiculousness at it's finest!!
