At one point, the infamous Los Zetas was the most powerful cartel in Mexico due to its recruitment of highly-trained former Mexican Special Forces soldiers. But as many of its original Special Forces cadre have been killed or arrested over the years, Los Zetas has been forced to recruit poorly-trained ordinary street thugs to fill its ranks. Los Zetas is still deadly, but it no longer possess the efficiency and finesse of its heyday.

Americans on foreign soil on unsactioned operations is a thing that happened a lot during the cold war era. Of course, back then the government mostly contracted PMCs to do this type of stuff for deniability reasons. Im a former Border Patrol Agent. When we were getting our training, they had always made it very clear to us that we know exactly where we are at all times and not to cross into Mexico, because they would arrest us and detain us. Sometimes it’s a lot tougher than it sounds, when you’re patrolling in the middle of nowhere, and there is no indication that you’ve crossed the border (no wall, signs, etc), and when you’re in an area with no cell service, bad comms on the radio, it can go bad real quick.
@Raiden08312 жыл бұрын
Shouldnt they put up some sorta signs then? Or maybe have a good map of the geography and using the land to explain where the border is? Also does it really matter much when its basically nothing out there? Id imagine it only becomes an issue if you cross miles past the border.
@eldesmadres89452 жыл бұрын
@@Raiden0831 Lets say you find someone and arrest them only to find out you were on mexican soil and have no jurisdiction there so it is extremely important to know where you are at all times. Also the cartel patrols the area and has spotters posted up high in the mountains so if they were to see border patrol on mexican soil it would end badly for them; people might not be aware of the fact that the US sent special forces to train the Mexican military, then most of them were recruited by the cartels and made them extremely militarized to the point where they would honestly pose a threat to any US military, they have the same weapons, training and definitely the money for a war.

When the army discovered that Jürgen had stolen the weapons, Marc was sent to a safe house and the Belgian police and army were called in to track down Jürgen. When it comes to U.S operations in other countries, there are some political/ geopolitical implications that are considered. So when it's possible or advisable, the U.S will work with the host nation's police, intelligence, counter terror/ military forces as a joint operations task force. Alternatively, when the U.S is concerned about the nation being involved or the possibility of insiders then the U.S will deploy some of their most experienced and covert assets. One example of them is CAG or SFOD-D aka Delta Force, this team is very well versed in operating in locations and situations with little to no oversight and they are very good at making sure there is no U.S footprint. A lot of their operations are classified because of the nature of them including infiltrating hostile nations and conducting operations that would be rather controversial if discovered. The other asset that could be deployed that isn't directly tied to the U.S military is the CIA Paramilitary Arm which is known as "Ground Branch" or Special Activities Division, these CIA officers are the most covert personnel in the inventory of the U.S government and they are responsible for conducting high risk operations that the government wants no affiliation to. They train to handle virtually all aspects of Special operations including hostage rescue, sabotage, espionage, direct action etc. They are literally the definition of Black Ops, it's not unlikely that they're used to combat cartels as they operate virtually everywhere the U.S has a presence and places that the U.S doesn't officially have one. They're more of an unknown than Delta so a lot of their operations are classified, the most recent operation they were officially seen involved in was in Iraq when they helped Kurdish forces decimate militias fighters. They're the type of entity that would be doing the types of activities seen in this game, along with the stuff seen in the movie Sicario. They also trained the Ukrainians to combat the Russians with "defensive tactics" but we all know America's definition of defense is controversial.
