At one point, the infamous Los Zetas was the most powerful cartel in Mexico due to its recruitment of highly-trained former Mexican Special Forces soldiers. But as many of its original Special Forces cadre have been killed or arrested over the years, Los Zetas has been forced to recruit poorly-trained ordinary street thugs to fill its ranks. Los Zetas is still deadly, but it no longer possess the efficiency and finesse of its heyday.

Yeah, there's a retired Mexican special forces operator who confirmed this when he said that some of the people who passed selection went as a disciplinary sanction, and those operators are the ones who become cartel enforcers "soldados". The good operators are the ones who go to the course voluntarily.

Doesn't make them less dangerous unfortunately, as that cartel changed "the game" dramatically. Now, some of the cartels are using outright fear and military-style tactics on the public instead of winning the support from the poor and downtrodden.

Americans on foreign soil on unsactioned operations is a thing that happened a lot during the cold war era. Of course, back then the government mostly contracted PMCs to do this type of stuff for deniability reasons. Nowadays this still happens, but they give less of a shit about not using their own agencies. Most of those PMC companies that are still around became corporate security firms.

Im a former Border Patrol Agent. When we were getting our training, they had always made it very clear to us that we know exactly where we are at all times and not to cross into Mexico, because they would arrest us and detain us. Sometimes it’s a lot tougher than it sounds, when you’re patrolling in the middle of nowhere, and there is no indication that you’ve crossed the border (no wall, signs, etc), and when you’re in an area with no cell service, bad comms on the radio, it can go bad real quick.
@Raiden0831
@Raiden0831 2 жыл бұрын
Shouldnt they put up some sorta signs then? Or maybe have a good map of the geography and using the land to explain where the border is? Also does it really matter much when its basically nothing out there? Id imagine it only becomes an issue if you cross miles past the border.
@eldesmadres8945
@eldesmadres8945 2 жыл бұрын
@@Raiden0831 Lets say you find someone and arrest them only to find out you were on mexican soil and have no jurisdiction there so it is extremely important to know where you are at all times. Also the cartel patrols the area and has spotters posted up high in the mountains so if they were to see border patrol on mexican soil it would end badly for them; people might not be aware of the fact that the US sent special forces to train the Mexican military, then most of them were recruited by the cartels and made them extremely militarized to the point where they would honestly pose a threat to any US military, they have the same weapons, training and definitely the money for a war.

It’s a very good thing the new Modern Warfare series exists. Back then, I didn’t really take COD characters serious, due to, I don’t know, lack of...character development? I’m not an expert in storytelling, but I know how it works. Sure OG Ghost was cool in his comic story, but in the original Modern Warfare 2, I saw him as some soldier wearing a skull mask for personal reasons, and that’s it. Well, new Modern Warfare 2 came, and I think this is the best Ghost I’ve ever seen. This is the version of Simon Riley I prefer the most😁

When the army discovered that Jürgen had stolen the weapons, Marc was sent to a safe house and the Belgian police and army were called in to track down Jürgen. After the discovered Jürgen hid in a forest, they surrounded the forest and slowly moved in, but also received support from French, Dutch and German spec-ops units during the mission. Jürgen was found dead in the forest.

When it comes to U.S operations in other countries, there are some political/ geopolitical implications that are considered. So when it's possible or advisable, the U.S will work with the host nation's police, intelligence, counter terror/ military forces as a joint operations task force. Alternatively, when the U.S is concerned about the nation being involved or the possibility of insiders then the U.S will deploy some of their most experienced and covert assets. One example of them is CAG or SFOD-D aka Delta Force, this team is very well versed in operating in locations and situations with little to no oversight and they are very good at making sure there is no U.S footprint. A lot of their operations are classified because of the nature of them including infiltrating hostile nations and conducting operations that would be rather controversial if discovered. The other asset that could be deployed that isn't directly tied to the U.S military is the CIA Paramilitary Arm which is known as "Ground Branch" or Special Activities Division, these CIA officers are the most covert personnel in the inventory of the U.S government and they are responsible for conducting high risk operations that the government wants no affiliation to. They train to handle virtually all aspects of Special operations including hostage rescue, sabotage, espionage, direct action etc. They are literally the definition of Black Ops, it's not unlikely that they're used to combat cartels as they operate virtually everywhere the U.S has a presence and places that the U.S doesn't officially have one. They're more of an unknown than Delta so a lot of their operations are classified, the most recent operation they were officially seen involved in was in Iraq when they helped Kurdish forces decimate militias fighters. They're the type of entity that would be doing the types of activities seen in this game, along with the stuff seen in the movie Sicario. They also trained the Ukrainians to combat the Russians with "defensive tactics" but we all know America's definition of defense is controversial.

Harm the USA? Makes no sense is the Cartels major market. A lot of Cartel members/family are USA Citizens. I can garantee that the Cartels work with a lot of USA Police/Military. There is a lot of money involved and power in play.

Can’t believe the world be so crazy that we compare our reality to something like Call of Duty. Pretty sure stuff like this happens all the time. Thank you officer Chris for your reaction

To think that the Cartels and the C.I.A. would go out of business if drugs were legal like in some more civilized Countries.

I totally celebrate that he has so much fun with the gameplay 😂. I think it would be really cool if COD would somehow go further in that direction. This is really interesting from a technical point of view and also fits this tactical part.

I'm liking the Castle Grayskull in the background. I used to have one of those when I was a kid; it was the huge 2002 series one with the light up eyes and sounds.

yeah fat chance you jump into such shallow water from such height and not hit rock bottom. Plus I would assume the impact at that speed with the water would have induced enough shock to knock them out unless it was a perfect dive which it wasn't,

A lot of newer plates/carriers are neutral buoyancy nowadays. Swimming in one actually isn't as bad as you think. Still not easy, but you shouldn't need to shed it if you're a competent swimmer.
