Marty Anthony - Are you aware that the rate of domestic abuse with police officers is as high as 40%? This isn’t publicized as much because it is very difficult to get an abuser who is a law enforcement officer jailed and tricky to enforce a restraining order against him (or her). www.ksl.com/article/28395356/statistics-of-domestic-violence-divorce-higher-for-police-families

........... & the way people should behave with officers is to RESPECT & OBEY (even if you don't agree ). If an officer asks for name/i.d. don't start spouting off that you know your rights, mouthing off to the officer, etc. Of course the exception here would be if one is asking you to do something illegal, immoral, dangerous, etc. I think this is extremely rare. People also need to teach their kids to respect authority.......... teachers, police, etc. Worst problems teachers had with students in 1950's & prior? Talking & chewing gum! That was a time when if you got in trouble at school you were in trouble at home. Mama didn't run up to school acting a fool & cussing out teacher!

Sometimes its enough to just acknowledge & appreciate what was done over & above the norm rather than to expect it to become an additional required part of the persons job in the future..Why not be grateful for the act itself rather than expecting even more from someone?! Maybe that's why these things happen so few & far between with that way of thinking...

I can relate to this story. I myself stopped a young man who turned out to be home on approved military leave. The reason I stopped him was as I was casually following behind his older model SUV, I noticed twice as he broke that the break lights would come on and then emmediately go back out while he was still stopped. I called in the stop as protocol before activating my blue lights. I approached the driver's window and began by first interducing myself and my agency and then thanking him for his service. I explained the reason I was stopping him that night and just as I assumed.....he had no idea this was happening. Now I COULD have issued him a citation for faulty equipment but i thought why create more of a problem. I repositioned my car and began helping this soldier look his vehicle over. I felt this to be safe because he had stopped in a vacant parking lot. Long story short, the problem turned out to be a fuse and a bad wire. We temperarly fixed the issue and shook hands before we departed. WITHOUT A CITATION.

Firestone also refused to rotate my tires after a promise to do so for purchasing a new set .. . So! that makes two of us that have been ripped off by Firestone in St. Charles, MO.

When I was a teenager a girlfriend and I were parked in a nature preserve (ahem) and an officer asked us to exit the park. I found that I was stuck in mud. The officer ruined his uniform pushing me out and he even had an inspection that day.

Unfortunately you are referring to make believe story about cops. You might as well believe Santa is real. Sorry if I broke the news to you.
@robertortiz85405 жыл бұрын
Kyle the problem is that this is not a make believe story, this is an incident that occurred and this Officer went above and beyond to help this female driver the Officer could of easily hurt her out of her pocket by issuing her a summons for no brake lights. We may not like the Police but we can not go around stereotyping all Police Officers as being bad you do have some Officers that know how to use discretion.

What an amazing police officer and shame on firestone employees for taking advantage of a customer. $600 for a light test is just crazy can’t trust any of these companies.

I noticed they didn't mention that he found and repaired the problem? What was wrong with the brake lights? Inquiring minds must know! They left out the most important detail!

Surely they "must leave out" the important details, they will never say it to your face but it's called liability. A cop can be a "mechanic" while he's on duty because his job requires that he/she looks, touches and inspects things along with a reason. Yet there is a grey line with that and it is evident in everyone's reaction to his SEEMINGLY POSITIVE actions. He does not get to paid to be a mechanic! Since she was stopped anyway, why not escort her to a real mechanic who can legally inspect whether there was a scam done... oh yeah TRUST is only a concept.

Way to go Office Jenkins. We need more cops like you around here. That was nice of you to help that poor lady. What gets me is I can’t believe that fire stone wanted to charge her $600 just to check the electrical system that was absolutely insane they shouldn’t charge her at all. That is the dumbest thing for them to do in fact it’s a rip off
