Becoming famous especially when young, and your brain is still forming, is a disaster for most. You become surrounded by yes-men, you expect the world to always fall before your feet - and of course that won't continue and the brain finds it extremely difficult to accept a new reality to replace the one they had been experiencing. I don't wish fame on anyone

Mental illness is a terrible thing, it is a life sentence of the mind. You push your loved ones away, and you are isolated in your tortured existence. You turn to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain, but it never goes away. Your intentions are good, but it always backfires, and you handle situations with aggression and verbal abuse, because it is the only way you know how. I can relate to Mr Payne, because I myself am a victim of mental illness, namely depression and a personality disorder. I am a rugby and boxing loving man who would not be caught ever listening to boy bands, but I am crying for Mr Payne, because I know what he was going through. I wish I could have given him a hug. I hope he has finally found the peace he was lacking in this world.

Popularity shouldn't dictate how terrible a death is... Children die everyday without anyone ever knowing their name... 😔

😢I was just thinking about him before I found out. He was in a podcast recently talking about this stuff and the success of the other guys. He reminds me of myself and exactly how I was at 31 . My heart hurts for him and his family.

Celebrities who can't maintain their popularity, especially coming from a group, really struggle. They can't handle the loss of popularity 😒

He opened up in 2021 about being suicidal.

Personally I've never thought he looked relaxed as an individual venturing solo or in the band. He always seemed to have that element of self conscious awkwardness about him. The others just seemed to do their thing but he was different. I've always thought this way before his demise. Hopefully he's at peace now.

Every time someone succumbs to dangerous behaviour due to drugs and alcohol abuse is very sad. But as sad it is its not unusual for these events to happen. Lesson kids. Don't do drugs, don't drink excessively. Stay in control of your behaviour. Live a long and happy life.
