POLICE Plate Carrier Setup: SWAT SCHOOL

Not a bad generic setup for swat school. I had something similar when I went through and used the school as an opportunity to revamp my gear and see what configuration I wanted my carrier and belt to be in.

When he said you hit you mid 30s and your running around the few extra pounds makes a difference boy I feel that. I run hesco 3810lv plates over soft iiia backers. Gets me iii rifle rating plus special threats against m855 green tip and some 7.62 ap rounds. Plates weigh about 5 pounds a peice at sapi xl and the backers about half a pound maybe a pound tops. Way the hell better than a 10+ pound ceramic lvl 4 plates. I'm back and forth between a patrol vest and plate carrier 12 to 16 hours a day about 6 days a week so you start to feel it when your in it more than just an hour at the range with the boys. Especially when you have sciatic issues and degenerative disc disease.

I agree with your setup. In swat school you need a spot for your radio, pouches for pistol and rifle mags. If you make it to swat then you can add all the gear and pouches you need. Just keep it simple and more importantly lightweight. 🤙

Are these type of vest also bullet proof or just more so for carrying items and allowing Police to see your affiliated with the force?

The carrier itself is not bulletproof. That why they call it a plate carrier. The plates that you insert into the carrier are what would be “bulletproof” but only up to a certain caliber depending on what plates you run. People that don’t run plates usually don’t wear a vest type carrier. They’ll wear what’s called a chest rig. Which is solely for carrying mags and gear. A plate carrier without any ID isn’t going to do anything for you as far as law enforcement thinking you’re a good guy. Plate carriers can be bought by anyone. Bad guys wear them too. If you’re a good guy, wear a patch that says that. Even then you may get detained til your ID is verified.

Is it just for arresting protesters or can you also use it to confiscate private property from the citizen, those guns dont confiscate themselves after all.

This is usable for most police work. Wearing this to an undercover investigation would give things away. The county police where I live wear plate carriers as part of their regular patrol uniform.
