The family of a black teenager in Wisconsin is considering legal action after the teen was handcuffed over an apparent false robbery call. Akil Carter was riding in a car with his white grandmother. Police say they pulled the car over after getting a tip that two black males were robbing a white woman nearby. Michelle Miller reports.

not just that's sketchy, but the most probable situation here is that the Black teen is violent to the old white lady. Notice how cop interacts so differently to boy (step out the car. Put your hands up) and then grandmother ( are you okay?)

I agree....that happens all too often. Blacks feel too relieved to try and prevent something like this from happening again. But if we'd take more legal action, even if we lose the case, police might think twice before reacting. And now they could be using an imaginary Black couple as a witness alibi; claiming they left the "couple" before they could get names.

First of all, you have to know that white people have the same experience, but the news only focuses on black cases, which magnify black crime, but cover up white crime, and this is the result of you deliberately amplifying black cases. The police got a tip that TWO black males were robbing a white woman. They see a black kid riding along in the passenger seat of a car with a white lady driving and AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME he is one of them and TREAT HIM LIKE A VIOLENT CRIMINAL and SLAP HANDCUFFS ON before asking any questions. You see if this was the other way around and a couple white males were the subject of the tip and police saw a white male seating in the passenger seat while a black woman was driving. They probably wouldn't even pull them over let alone draw their gun, ask that young white man to come out with his hands in the air and slap HANDCUFFS on before asking any fans questions. YOU SEE THE PROBLEM HERE A WHITE PERSON WOULD BE GIVEN THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT BY COPS WHEREAS A BLACK PERSON DOESNT.

@ Anthony M, the major issue is not necessarily "black related" in this country but rather "African American" in nature. Africans come to this country, and for the most part keep their heads down, stay out of trouble and excel academically. Same with West Indian and other black folks from around the globe. They come here and excel more so than their African American peers. The "stagnation" issue is tied to what the African American has gone through since their passage from West Africa to America. Sure, Africans and West Indian folks suffer from slavery, to some degree BUT they appear not as still shackled as a large percentage of the AA brothers and sisters. I think there are a lot of parallels to draw from this distinction.

I am CONFUSED: How, exactly, does "...two black males were robbing a white woman.." resemble a young black man sitting calmly in passenger-side seat belt and talking to calm white woman driver going, presumably calmly, down the road? Sounds more like a white cop needed something to log for the day, or just needed target practice. Luckily, no one was shot, but emotional, social, cultural damage was done. Whatever happened to the United States of America that was supposed to protect Liberty and Justice for All? I fear that it is dead or dying.
