When I was a kid I always used to go for the car in monopoly. So I could make brmmm brmmm and screeching noises going around the corners. So they hid it from me. They had to hide the dog too.

My grandmothers set used buttons for the cars. As the cars where lost by my dad and uncle when they where kids.

They are very similar - and probably came from the same mold (Parker Brothers!).

Almost... they were usually in the trunk of the car. The biggest challenge in the early days was the power supply and the level of heat given off by the tubes (a.k.a. "valves"). Then there was the antennae. Innovations abounded.
