I can’t say how many times I install like a new weapon model and it breaks my game entirely and I can’t fix it that’s what caused me to quit lspdfr as I reinstalled everything probably 8 times each like 12 hours of downloads when done and I play a bit then bam one mod and it was gone

When i started looking into law enforcement games like Ready or Not, i always wondered why games like this never show up anymore. In my opinion, i think it comes down to two reasons. 1. The genre is so niche that major game dev studios don't see it a a worthwhile investment for the money. 2. Controversy. It may be a shot in the dark, but i feel like when it comes to serious topics like what Ready or Not does, major AAA devs only see the possible backlash from activists/angry parents/politicians tearing them to shreds and even threatening lawsuits.

I think the biggest thing is that LSPDFR does 95% of the things these simulator games do, but with better graphics, physics, etc. ESPECIALLY once you add more mods to the game. It's hard to compete with that

What's funny to me is RoN shows the disturbing reality and how unhinge some people are. It doesn't glorify killing, it's not trying to justify it either. You're just trying to stop a threat. But THIS is apparently "controversial". To whom idk. Yet AAA studios are none stop making games glorifying killing like it's some kind of sick joke with saturated colors and glowing pink skins of whatever's currently trending. It's also targeting a broad audience of like 12 years olds too. I'm not saying that it's bad, cuz truthfully at the end of the day it's just a video game. But my point is that some things are "controversial" because some idiots want it to be. There's no logic behind it. Now the real reason why we don't have great games like these is because big company play it safe and rehash what's already popular. They aren't trying to target niches or innovate, they just want to do what's already been done, but add their name to it.

Yes Shadows of Doubt really good but some people don't like the design (like Minecraft). And as you tell :you play as a PI, but the game don't have gun fight or pursuit so a lot of people don't like it for that.

I hope GTA 6 expands on this idea where in GTA online people can choose to be a cop or a criminal instead of blowing up people with tanks and oppressors (though it is quite fun) essentially making the game more immersive

I am so happy someone finally made a video about these games, I have been playing LSPDFR for so long and was always asking myself why no big company made a police sim game like LSPDFR. Police Sim Patrol Officers was a major dissapointment, devs dont listen to the community, if you wan't action I would higly discourage you from buying Patrol Officers cause there is no shootouts, no NPC that will ever attack you, if you use your gun it will be an instant game over and your shift ends. Devs have been ignoring community requests for use of the firearms since years and probably won't ever add it. A police sim oriented on the example of LSPDFR made by an AAA quality studio would be a dream.

I've always thought it came down to it being too restrictive as gameplay goes. Being a cop is not about just getting into shootouts. It's about helping the community well it's supposed to be anyways. Rockstar should make a game like Chicago PD where you play as an intelligent agent but your methods can be not always right, sometimes you won't follow the protocol (if u want). So, basically youre a cop but without rules, your only goal is to completing the mission no matter what.

As a LEO IRL my biggest problem with Police Simulator is that theres no danger to you. The most ive seen a suspect do in the game is run but always stop peacefully. When I played with a friend we rode two man and he would go to the passenger side window while i go to the driver. Since their is no concern for officer safety in the game it was soley for roleplay at that point. Im not saying they should have shootouts common in the game but there should be a very rare chance you have to or a chance someone will fight you. Also some of probable cause in the game is a bit wack for searches lol

devs of police simulator kinda admitted they made a mistake in devolping the game. They went for a 13 pg age rating. Soon after the release they actually realised this was a mistake. This limets them from a lot of calls. they cant have violence in the game. they cant shoot people etc. And they cant change it to pg 16 anymore as they already sold it to what then would be underage childeren. They talked about this several times. Maybe if they ever work in a version 2, it will be 16/18+ and they can add what the community wants

The problem with Patrol Officers is not a lack of action, but a lack of realism. I do not care I do not shoot in the game, since it is so rare irl that it would have not been a realistic thing anyways. I wouldn't mind managing the 100th accident scene if it was realistic and the AI wasn't shit. The thing with Patrol Officers is that there is no passion in the project. It is the Xth money making simulator on the same trash engine Asobo uses. That is the problem.

I think the best we can hope for is if Police Simulator get popular enough to show the devs that an online version of the game is wanted that and give them suggestions on how to improve the game with each simulator game about the police. I point out truck simulators as those are the sims I play the most and looking back at truck sims they were extremely basic starting out and look at all of the truck sims now from ETS2 and ATS you can do a lot in them and they have spawned offshoots where in those you have to actually load cargo. I think if police sims get enough of a fan base then we'll see more detailed police sims.

Flashing Lights is another good sim on the market right now. Only downsides are lack of NPCs, small server size, and generally small player base but it has a lot of the features of FiveM and LSPDFR

Unrecord, the game that inspired the whole bodycam craze aftere its concept trailer dropped, is actually going to be a detective/SWAT-style game. You collect evidence and go on police raids to solve cases or roll up criminals with some RPG dialogue options to build the story. Currently there's no planned release date yet though and it's unsure if it'll be a linear story or not. It's a shame Unrecord has been overshadowed by all these other half-a$$ed games after its first trailer, however Shots Fired looks really cool and well thought out, especially if the events are procedural instead of linear.

I truly understand the part on GTA RP that it's arcade-feeling, Arma 3 does a poor method for Police Simulators/Roleplay (most of the time it's Criminal Favored). I play(ed) on a Rage MP (FiveM but not from cfx, kind of) server called GTA:World, I highly suggest if you've been in LS:RP, SA:MP, or other text-based roleplays you should try out GTA:World, it's a fully text-based roleplay and takes heavy reliance of "supreme" roleplay.

Police sim patrol officers is nothing more than glorified ticket writing simulator. I'm not expecting violence every 5 minutes but this game has literally none of it, it's simply boring. In LSPDFR there is always some risk and it makes you think twice before initiating a traffic stop or accepting calls, especially at night.

I assume the topic is too controversial in America to make any big budget games about them. As for good police games, if they don't need to be a simulator you could check out both Urban Chaos titles, even though they are action games, or Police Simulator Patrol Duty, which has car chases and gunfights. And regarding this, it's too bad that Battlefield Hardline has no offline Bots. I really enjoyed that game. As for The Precinct, I'm fine with the top down perspective. What bothers me more is that it doesn't take place in the modern day and I hope mods can fix that.

I’m saying not to crush the protesters with tanks, but, as expected, to send them home with non-lethal kicks. formation of officers, protection of property and careful use of equipment. ok, maybe we can add some thugs who have wormed their way into the crowd, and to whom lethal force is justified. but there will never be such a game ps I know about riot civil unrest, but the game seemed crooked to me

driver licence can get expired? if the person is so old he should not be driving at all. I made my driving licence when i was 18 like everybody else and it is valid from 2006-2068 so life will erase me before the licence will get expired.

Bro, you forgot to mention True Crime New York City for PS2 lol. It's a LA Noire type of game BUT modern! Old game but still dope in terms of police simulation open world type! More action packs for sure than LA Noire BUT still holds up as simulation where you never even HAVE to play the story mode in order to fully patrol Manhathan on random callouts lol. This is definitely the only open world simulation police AAA game we ever got set in modern days. My favorite open world police simulator game is Police Pursuit Mod for GTA 4 though lol. This is point blank my favorite so far. Mainly because this MOD consist of SHIT-TON of shootouts and car chase LOL! I uploaded a video on this too about a year ago. P.S True Crime New York City game definitely should have been mentioned there though.

Idk about full blown simulation, but true crime NY has all the concepts out there for devs to get creative with. Total remake or inspiration for a new game, preferably somewhere with less traffic. Be a good/dirty cop. Plant drugs on inoccent civilians. Break up rock band fights in hotels. Gang wars happening in the streets. Breaking up chop shop rings. Digging into the trunk like a supernatural episode to change loadout and laying people out with a beanbag gun or taser. Definitely been dreaming about a decent cop game, but i wanna live that double lifestyle and use what i dont turn into evidence to enhance my own gameplay with blackmarket guns or a new custom car thats not exactly standard issue

Great video as always! It’s funny you mention this! A developer friend of mine who I will call Apollo is currently working on writing something to fit this exact sort of style that he and I have felt has a tremendous opportunity to be successful. The goal is to create an open world MMO RPG game that will allow all of these possibilities where you can transition from beat cop, to swat, traffic enforcement, dui checkpoints, warrant service calls and more. Last he told me, the first draft of the story is nearly done and he hopes to complete the rewrites by the end of the year or summer next year! He wants to get that built first so that he can go weave everything else together so that everything makes sense and doesn’t feel out of place. Have you tried True Crime: New York City? I would argue this game is barely have any simulation genre ad very lacking in investigation aspect. But for a PS2 era game its a good open world GTA style police game. You can upgrade your equipment from standard issue pistol, stun gun, bean bag, to fully automatic rifle from local gun store or even flamethrower and rocket launcher. Or learn martial arts like wushu and karate. or Buy new car from your station or buy from local car dealer and upgrade it to unmarked police vehicle and many things that you buy for your own operation. Basically many customable option and playing style in this game. However being a killer frenzy or corrupt cop will punish you and NYPD will not stay quite about your action either. It's a fun game and I think forgotten a lot as a police game. Too bad there's no PC port for this game

Police Simulator: Patrol Officers is set in a fictionalized version of Boston, MA. Regardless, the USA setting implies US law enforcement experience but we don't get that or at least, it doesn't feel like it. The devs have also expressed their hesitance in even depicting (not just using) firearms in the past as well. Which calls into question why not set the game in the UK instead of the USA if guns are not intended to be used at all, save for felony stops which have been added as part of the recent DLC and update. The community seems to be split on that topic too with some discussions devolving into a gun debate with a unhealthy dose of Europe vs USA culture clash mixed in. Its kinda a shame since it is the closest thing to a good, retail police sim. Still fun to play but not holding my breath on any... ballistic content in the future.

Police sim patrol officers recently added pursuits and spike strips as part of the highway update! You should check it out! There’s also now car thefts and felony stops! It’s supposed to be based off Boston based on the vehicle liveries and uniforms. The devs have said they can’t add any firearm calls or shootouts because it would change the game rating in Germany where they are based, and basically lock kids out of playing it which is most of their customer base, and they want the game to stay family friendly, plus their publisher only publishes family friendly games. To which many people say, why set it in the US where critical incidents happen all the time? Why not set it in germany or the UK where that’s far less common esp in UK where most cops aren’t armed.

i totally agree with u on mentioning that fivem is the best out there to practice policing and enjoy it but sadly lately most fivem servers as u also mentioned do favor crims over cops and vise versa with the new habit of making profit instead of having fun... ive been on fivem for 3 years now and i keep bouncing between servers because of the play to win mentality that most players have

Your claim that there are no competitors for Ready or Not simply isn't true. While it isn't based on the American SWAT, and lacking in budget compared to RoN, you still have Zero Hour which is based around the SWAT equivalent found in Bangladesh. Zero Hour may lack I'm graphics compared to RoN and it may fall short in some other areas too but despite this ZH possesses many more features ranging from a PvP multiplayer mode on top of coop, the option to locate and turn off breaker boxes to kill the lights and even the ability to utilise a K-9. This is just to name a few of the features which ZH brings to the table over RoN and while I'm not bothered about the PvP, it does give more tactical options in terms of gameplay. I've previously tried getting into FiveM but I've long since given up. Between trying to find a high quality server and meeting the frequently required application requirements I just couldn't muster the interest. From what I saw a lot of servers want 100+ hours in FiveM as a regular player, arguing that this indicative of RP experience and disregarding all else. I appreciate wanting to try and ensure a certain quality of player within a server but I had no interest in spending 100 hours in low to medium quality servers which were rarely too dissimilar to the usual chaos of GTA online. I did play LSPDFR was enjoyable for a while but actually getting it all running with all the mods was a complete nightmare as a direct result of Rockstar's anti-community attitude towards modders. I echo looking forward to The Precinct, it looks to hit a lot of checkboxes for me and I love the choice time period for the game.

Yeah that was my bad. I've played a lot of Zero Hour, I just kind of blanked on that one. It's a fun tactical shooter, but I will say, it has a long way to go before it meets the expectations of RoN. Even with the additional features like K9's and drones.

@@OfficialInvictus To be honest I'd argue that RoN hasn't met its own expectations or ambitions. Personally I still don't think RoN does a particularly good job of achieving the standards set by SWAT 3 and SWAT 4. This is something that's compounded by RoN failing to deliver on various features that were advertised during its development and what equates to withdrawal of content by removing the option for the host/player to select the nature of the callout in multiplayer/standalone missions. I find it a lot easier to criticise RoN for its shortcomings, especially when you consider the team and budget behind it. This is further amplified when considering ZH, which has continued to deliver game improvements, new content and new features for a fraction of the price with a fraction of Void Interactives budget, experience and resources.

Using the Steam Charts as a metric in this regard brings in a plethora of additional elements which aren't necessarily anything to do with the quality of either game, or even necessarily anything to do with the perceived wants of players or their enjoyment levels.

LSPDFR and FiveM are only available on PC. Police simulator does have vehicle pursuits and did when you uploaded this video. And it’s always had armed suspect and aggravated assault calls. And no, adding shootings is not gonna make the game better. For one, I feel like it takes away from the simulation part of the game and two I don’t think the game is built for this. I can’t imagine shootings to be fun in this game. I do think it needs more. Like assaults in progress. Robberies in progress. Suspects who physically fight back. I think the biggest thing PSPO needs is servers. Let me play with like 7 other officers around the entire city. Respond to calls together. Have them get into pursuits with me. Etc. Bodycam looks neat but it hurts my eyes. And I’m sure PC only. Precinct looks really good. Excited about that one.

Bro, the Police Simulator Patrol officer DLC released on the day of this upload. It was a really bad coincidence. Please don't make it out like I'm giving misinformation. To add on, I haven't seen any of these callouts you mentioned. The game is just simply not fun compared to other games that offer simulation. Patrol Officers is like a 10 hour game at most unless you get so bored of the repetitive same scenes over and over, you uninstall within the first hour.

Regardless, the game announced back in April that pursuits were coming with said DLC. How many hours do you have in police sim? Because both agg assault and robbery calls I feel like are unlocked early on. Granted, there isn’t much to them and they need to add where you can arrive while they’re still in progress instead of after the fact, but they’re still there. Also, you mention this game isn’t fun compared to other games. But of your own list, two of the “games” you mentioned aren’t games. They’re mods that are built off of a multi million dollar game. Mods that are designed and worked on by hundreds of different mod creators. LSPDFR has the benefit of if you get bored, you can go to the page and find a new list of callouts. FiveM you’re not gonna get bored because it’s all unique. I wasn’t attacking you or defending Police Sim overly or anything. Just that you are downing really the only good police game that really allows you to police that’s out right now. Sure, it’s missing a lot, but it’s unfair to compare it to GTA mods or LA Noir. LA Noir is an amazing game but also a very very different game than police sim. Sure they share the theme of police but one is a linear game with set missions while the other is randomly generated. Comparing any game to GTA mods isn’t fair period. I mean GTA is also the best superhero game then. It’s the best police game. It’s the best zombie game. It’s the best disaster survival game. Etc. Modded GTA can be literally whatever you want it to be. And that’s amazing but that’s also like a cheat sheet since the base game is already built up on a sturdy foundation. In my two comments I mentioned issues with police sim or things that need to be changed. I hear where you are coming from. Just realize that until GTA is able to be modded on Xbox (or until Rockstar makes a police simulator game) then PSPO is the best that’s available to a large portion of players. Could it be better? Absolutely. Does it do the job? For now.

As far as am aware the main reason patrol officers doesn’t feature any intense calls eg shootings is because of certain laws where the game is developed that restrict violence.

This video came up as i closed out my unreal engine project that is exactly this. As a huge LSPDFR & now Ready or Not fan, ive longed for a game like this too. & Seeing your vid pop up as soon as i stopped working for tbe night made me instantly reopen the project & get back to work. The world needs this kind of game & i too really want to play a game thats like LSPDFR but a fully & smoothly working game. Will keep you posted.
