Video from a drone shows Burgess firing two shots after the officers got to within 10 to 15 feet. Eight officers immediately discharged their firearms, striking Burgess 11 times. The incident began with a 'shots fired' domestic violence call in Mt. Pleasant. Burgess had shot at his wife following an argument. She wasn't hurt, and Burgess fled in a vehicle before police arrived. He deserved what he got! Good riddance!

Kind of like expecting them to know about f stops in photography... most don't know unless they've dabbled in photography. All they see is amazing video from an amazingly stable platform. And the drones today are amazingly stable, even without a gimble. Gimble just keeps camera platform steady in more erratic movements, such as a bad operator, or windy condition.

A little luck and a little skill. What I want to know is why the drone officer didn't immediately call that off as soon as he saw the gun still in his hands. It wasn't a long time, only a few seconds, but it was visible and he said nothing. Then again, they were behind shields so I think the only actual vulnerable officer was the K-9. The sharpshooters were not going to hit a fellow officers. In that situation they were not going to send in some of the incompetent officers we see so many times in these videos. This was a great example of good police work, well planned and executed. From planning, approach, cover, just everything in this situation was great. They knew he was dangerous and still moved in to apprehend and help the suspect, even though he was apparently faking being hurt and was trying to lure the officers in. This is what can happen when you sign up to be an officer, these guys stepped up and handled the situation. The one thing I can’t understand is why the drone operator wasn’t doing his job and didn’t see the gun, it was obvious from about @17:55 that he was reaching for a gun. From that point the drone operator should have notified everyone that he was at least reaching for something.

The comments here are always a huge echo chamber. Let's not pretend like we have meaningful debates here that aren't completely one-sided. Having them private or public wouldn't change the fact that the comment sections on this channel are pretty much all the same. It's all just "Thanks cops" and then everyone cheers, while those who have any criticisms (valid or not) get 100% ignored and dismissed. I'm all for justice being served and pretty much most of the time I do side with cops in these videos... but ANY little negative thing towards police will be totally ignored and dismissed as being "evil Democrat hates all cops. This is just some leftist that's here to spread hate towards cops." I haven't seen a single discussion here where anyone came to an agreement without it turning into some weird Us vs Them thing. I'd /almost/ prefer them to be private just because people pretty much only argue or whine about how the people they disagree with are bad instead of talking about something interesting regarding the video. Wish people would rather talk about something meaningful like providing updates that aren't in the description or sharing information about anything that might've not been shown that happened because the camera didn't film it or whatever. I don't know. Excuse my tired rambling... just tired of every comment either being: Cops are epic, thank you, you guys are great, [insert world is a better place joke here], and arguments in reply threads. I get that it is important to thank the police (absolutely not saying that people should stop), I get that the person who died isn't able to hurt people anymore, and I get that having a sense of humor is important... but this is like... getting kinda repetitive and cultish. There is description which you can get the information. And as you said there is some comments 'Not talking about that topic'. I mean in my opinion its not a big deal considering that these cops are risking their lives each day for our protection. They deserve to be praised. But I am sorry if you have a issue. As a part 107 drone operator, I saw the drone pilot make about 5 mistakes. But the two biggest ones were: 1) apparently not looking at the screen as the cops were approaching. That was your ONE JOB drone operator. Your sole purpose is to be their eyes, and tell them what they can't see. Like, you know... a gun? 2) They didn't stay there after the shooting happened. That would have been the time to pull out a little and hover over the whole scene, to make sure that ALL of the cops were back... and that no one was down. You can yell "is anyone hurt?" a hundred times... but if one person was knocked unconscious, tripped and fell, or was bleeding from the neck, they might not be able to yell back. Drones are only as good as their pilots. Send this one back for retraining.

Drone camera op failed to call out gun. He grabbed and displayed a firearm 5 seconds or more before the officers were within this eye sight because of the light. That was frustrating to watch.

Everyone talking about panic fire clearly has never shot a gun in their life. I don't think you realize how incredibly easy it is to shoot in a group and avoid hitting other people.
