Could you place a minimum price to reduce over production?

yes - the minimum alcohol price is designed to lower demand

@@tutor2u-official So if you put a min price on an over- production diagram in theory it would shift the the social optimum equilibrium as consumption of the good falls disincentivising firms to produce that good, curing over production.

It's not my style to regulate morality -- it's a slippery slope I'd rather not go down. I'd like to minimize the chances of our society falling into catastrophic ruination via a good ol'faceplant. I'd prefer to keep it simple and have a single land value tax.
