I feel like the spark issue could be interference from another wire with power traveling threw it. Maybe it needs a shielded sleeve over the wire to protect from interference

Scrape the paint off the starter where the neg wire goes from the wiring harness. The issue is the ground isn't strong. Been there done that. The only thing that stays energized is the voltage reg. because the charge side is always connected to the battery.

@@kyleoglee I run a ground strap (like on car hoods, braided)from motor to frame. Frame ground goes thru a circtuir breaker, then to battery. Always make sure you've good ground. Leaving wires unbundled, lowers rf issues and makes easier to inspect. Just my $.02

Kyle, I would Install a 4- Stroke Engine on this Trike-most are Fuel Injected these days, Great Gas Mileage and Zero Tuning- for two people, might require at least a 400 cc engine. You are Correct, if Pilots Live Long Enough, everyone will end up Flying a Trike...

Dellorto is a reputable carb, it's very easy to rejet the main, the problem is there is no support beyond main jets, unless you want to pay $80 for a mystery needle from UK with no confirmation it's right. I'm tuning in a PWK 28 carb on my Thor 202 for cold weather, will actually idle and idle down with the PWK carb. Still a lean spot at cruise rpm, about 20% throttle, which is the progression zone for carbs. Screw fuel injection, we need ignition curves, that would help in a situation like this and prevent burning up engines with static ignition timing.

I'd be worried about a toggle in the prop! Granted it's a bit further back than on a footlaunch setup, and Kyle's not gonna let the brakes flop around unstowed, but still.. Magnets let go, weird things happen.
