I'm from Fiji and we eat cassava with our meats , fish and vegetables. Like someone commented, the young leaves are edible too. Cooked in very strong coconut milk and with some fish or shellfish or canned tuna. The root can be boiled first, when cooked then the cooking water drained out and coconut milk added and cooked again. Cassava can be grated and made into a porridge with mashed banana and coconut milk. So many ways of cooking and eating it.

Can you use the boil cassava water? Since the cassava now leached its poison into the cooking water.

In the Dominican Republic we also eat it with fish, meat, and vegetables. Sometimes we add it on stews like "sancocho" or just eat it with egg. Our most beloved and traditional recipe is "Casabe" which is a flat bread make with the cassava root and we it it with garlic, or by itself with hot chocolate milk

Indonesia tempo doeloe 😊 The house reminds me of my village when I spent my childhood. Bamboo was used to build houses. Most people live in the bamboo house, earn their live by farming or fishing. The nature was so beautiful. Nowadays people compete to build modern house with a car in the garage and some motorcycle. You can't see butterflies or dragonfly flying around your house or ricefield. When you hear the bird chirp, it's in the cage.
