Get well Anna. Mark, well done! I too cook with wine or beer, and sometimes even put it in the food.... Maybe add a small can of tomato paste and a touch of red wine .... in the goulash that is.... I too love big simmered chucks of carrot or celery YES INDEED!!!!! Put cut up potatoes in the simmer.... the starches will help thicken it up

I hope Anna feels better soon. But, for vegans, they can use vegetable broth and a meat replacement. The Gardein brand makes “”beef” chunks that are pretty good, or use “Beyond” or “Impossible Meat” brand little meatballs as replacements for the chuck. 🌱

I hope that your lovely wife Anna feels better soon. She is a hero in my house bringing back memories of our youth. Feed her plenty of chicken broth and raw garlic, best natural antibiotic there is. As for your sir, even though your were simply hungry. You put yourself on the world stage and declared that you had no idea what you were doing. You are without a doubt a true man and loving husband and I applaud you for stepping up to the challenge. As for your cooking abilities, I am a professional cook with over 40 years experience, a published cook book author and I have my own you tube cooking channel. This is what I think of you cooking abilities. You have solid knife skills knowing how to hold and use a knife without banging around and acting like it's an axe. You also have a extremely solid knowledge of salt, where it is and how to not over do it. This sir is very rare. So, I consider you to be a very good cook and you are welcome to drink beer and cook in my kitchen anytime. Again, I hope Anna feels better soon you and your family are in my prayers. P.S. On my show I cook my own recipes and I still have cheat sheets there to make sure I don't forget something.))

I like to use a roux instead of flour and water slurry since the flour cooks and gives it more flavor. You can also use instant potato flakes as a thickener by just sprinkling them into the pot. Good job!

Where’s the LOVE button? Mark you are the best, picking up the pieces while Anna, Lovey, is down and out. Get better real soon Anna not because Mark botched up the video, no not at all! You can tell he’s a guy doing it “the guy” way. But because we love you and want you better. Mark, just use a fork to mix up the flour thickener. Lol, that was too funny. You are not a moron! Most of us grab whatever’s handy. Great video, glad to see you partially back and going strong! 💖🤗
