Polish Bistro Owner Invited Me To Try This!! (Was it Good?)

In this video I visited Polish Bistro that I was invited by the owner called Bistro Przy Rondzie in Mitcham, South London. I was recommended to try their most popular dish gulasz in potato pankake and traditional pirogi. Owner really seems to know what he's doing. Small menu with dishes made fresh will keep the customers coming back. Edit. Andre's ultimate food combination at 22:00 absolutely killed me in a positive way, that's what it means to truly enjoy your meal! :D

Zgoda ale jak wielu denerwuje mnie złym tłumaczeniem nazwy pierogów na angielski. To się tłumaczy Ruthenian dumplings a nie Russian dumplings ! Pierogi ruskie pochodzą z Rusi czerwonej - Russian dumplings stąd ich nazwa. Z tych terenów do korony przywiózł je Św. Jacek Odrowąż na początku XIII wieku. Na początku nie było w farszu ziemniaków , a kasza. Ziemniaki rozpowszechniły się dopiero w XIX wieku. Ruski zmieniło znaczenie w języku potocznym na początku XX wieku i zaczęło oznaczać Rosjanina. Ruś, to nie jest Rosja. Zresztą jeszcze w XIX wieku dla nas Rosja, to była Moskwa, a Rosjanie , to Moskale. Mickiewicz pisał Do przyjaciół Moskali nie Do przyjaciół Rosjan.

Eating both dishes is a challenge! Each one is tasty and filling, just like in Polish cuisine :) Polish pubs should be crowded there!

"Ruskie pierogi" (the correct name in English is "Rutheranian dumplings"; not "Russian dumplings") is a dish originating from Polish and Ukrainian cuisine. Their name comes from the Red Ruthenia - a historical land in north-western Ukraine and south-eastern Poland (land in north-western Ukraine was once part of Poland). Some people changed the name of the dumplings to "Ukraińśkie pierogi" due to the war in Ukraine (the word "rosyjskie" is an adjective that is the same as both the word russia and the Polish region called "Ruś" - people often get it mixed up, even polish people).

Absolutely correct however because this region -east Europe have histrionic issues people very often making mistakes . Rosja and Ruś it is completely different meaning . But Pierożki = dumpling in English it is still same food. Both Russians and Ruthenians making Pierożki they taste similar. Here is an example Viennese schnitzel and Germany schnitzel Polish schabowy.
