Man, this video was right on time. I was looking in surplus catalogs for something that will let me carry a decent amount of gear, meds, ammo, trauma kit, a few MREs, etc....... to wear on top of my AK chest rig and Camel Back carrier for a couple of days ( like a 3 day setup ) without having to carry a full ruck and came across a 2 for $10 deal on these. I was thinking of whether I could maybe use the metal D rings on the backs to run a set of shoulder straps ( I was thinking a couple of old, adjustable, canvas rifle slings ) into one, attach it to the D rings on the other with some paracord, and wear them one atop the other, WW2 style. I didn't see anything to compare it to and see if 2 of these, paired with a Stealth Angel waist duffel on my pistol belt at the small of my back, would provide enough storage for an "essentials only because you gotta move quick" carry setup. I figured that probably there weren't reviews for a bread bag and there was your video. Now that I see how much they bellows and can be over-stuffed if I snip the divider, I think a pair of these combined with the afore mentioned equipment would give about the same capacity as something like a military assault pack and would keep me going for 3-4 days if the need to have a light weight, grab my weapons and bread bags and go, equipment carry for a couple of days and would indeed fill that role for $10. I thank you, and you have a new subscriber. Thanks again, buddy :)

I prefer the nylon butt packs. But I find haversack frustrating it pits all the weight on one shoulder. I prefer my ribs pack and have been going back to my Treknology lumber pack. I like the idea of the simplicity of a shoulder bag. And I'll probable keep using one especially as summer comes around and I just want something to grab and go for a walk with Frodo. But it seem to often the mile or two walk turns into a 5 to 6 mile climb. Wonder if my lap top would fit into one of these then I might justifying buying it to go romping in the wood. No I mean to........ Thanks.

Just a POV, as 30yr vet and has worked/deployed all over the world, all countries have 2-4 peices of kit that are exceptional! All! This is one of them, others of note are Norge, poncho/sleeping bag or any Sandia nation's or NORPOL stuff ENG or CA winter stuff being from N-MN I know quality cold stuff but as a CDR I would always get with counterparts and set some limits or boundaries because the could always write off/ give more, though ours was mostly +$s, but we could get all the booze duty/tax free, hats, clothes, patches and other things went fast for troops we always had enough notice to plan, the CSM was in charge of enforcement w/ enlisted, XO for Officers, I was arbitrary, I paid for the rest up front, begged forgiveness... as these were good will thing, one last one I have quite a few blades from around the world, I was known for either EK's (picked up 200+@ -40$ per when they busted1st time, an investment!) Or I had about 150 custom forged tomahaw made at fair price, troops also ordered much more, in two places considered extremely high value/prestigious item and saved lives in blade cultures, Tomahawks are uniquely US, nation's know we carry them like the kukuri/ Gurkahas, always fun explaining " bury the hatchet!" To others and the dual meaning! Just some thoughts, just explaining other meaning of milsurp, so if some friend/old fart gives you something? It would be polite/courteous to ask how how he got it? I have a 20x50 full of stuff! Great channel!

Ive been using one of these for about a year now as my go to bag. It carries everything I need for a summer over night (which can be pushed depending on clothes) and that same gear gives me peace of mind as an emergency kit. If I strap a poncho to the bottom, strap on a canteen and a khukuri with a couple cans of beans in my pockets how can you go wrong?

That's really funny, but in Poland where i'm from you can buy this bag literally for 5$ (around 20pln) in some places with demobil (army gear removed from magazines). Now THATS cheap! And believe me, its indestructible - I have one from my uncle that survived 50 years of camping 😅. I think every polish outdoor guy have at least one in his wardrobe. Immortal classic in Poland, still alot of people using it.

I would like to ask you a question, I have a bread bag like yours. The one I have, has the metal buttons to hold the flaps close, like yours. However, I have seen some videos where the inside flaps had snaps on them. Are ours bags just an older bag or something?

@Kurt Rolson How do I tell the different between the bags? All that I can tell is if it has a metal tab at the end of the flap straps, it will have buttons on the inside pockets. If it has an angle cut nylon at the end of the flap straps, it will have snaps on the inside pockets. That is about all I know about the Polish Bread Bag.
