For the counter rotating gear box he has got 2 motorcycle right angle drive gearboxes units coupled together giving him the reduction and opposite turning shafts , a heavy way of doing it but reliable...................Peter

Not bad,but pilot must be in the center of the platform.Distribution of mas over coaxial propellers is problem.

Build for small jet airplane engines and use those for Motors and make it out of lightweight plastic and make it look like a UFO

I think this needs some sort of computer assist for the controls. Replace the linkage with servos and work on some piloting aids using sensors. If you make it hover over one spot than making it travel will be easy.
