I found at least three Tupadły's, our dad's birthplace and five Czarne's (different endings) his mother's birthplace. Both of ours are near Lipno and Wielgie.

John, It would be good to check if there are any Tupadły and Czarne that belonged to the same parish. Check also the contemporary distribution map of the surnames: nazwiska-polskie.pl/ When browsing the resuts, check the list of the places below the map - maybe teh correct village will appear there.

Hi, I'm wondering if you can lead me in the right direction. My ancestors came from a city in belarus, Krzyczew(Кричев) to Ukraine to Mykolaiv to build ships for the russia empire, I found his surname in a 1779 year document. This was right after the separation from the Polish Lithuanian kingdom. i search in a 1747 year document but his surname was not listed so maybe he was from somewhere else. Is there anyway of finding out where he came from? his surname was Ястремский (Yastremsky) which sounds very Polish to me. ANY info you can offer would be much appreciated!! thank you!

Tim, do you know if your ancestor married (and where)? Where did he die? Have you tired to obtain those vital records? There might be some clues where he was born.
