This is my favorite spec Porsche 944. Guards Red, phone dials, and it looks like an 86 (my favorite year!)

do you throw away those towels when buffing off the coating? also do you switch to a new side every panel?

very very good and informative video. Greeting from Asia. i'm now a big fan of your channel. can the technique in this video be applied to soft black japanese paint although it's not single-stage paint ?

Tana vat there is no really template for polishing any car. You have to do some test spots and only the car it’s self can tell you what it likes and doesn’t. On soft jdm paints I have had great success with scholl s30 polish on a light cutting foam pad. On black acuras in a single step paint correction I was hitting 80% defect removal. It really all depends on the overall goal and what the customer expects. But if the customer is expecting the most defect removal possible it’s always wise to use the most gentle pad as possible to not only make your life easier in the 2nd step but to also maintain the integrity of the paint . Thank you so much for watching ! I appreciate all my subscribers.

Happened by this video, searching for something else, and really glad I watched. I've got the same car in black. It's pretty nerve wracking to deal with some of the body lines! The A-pillars, and pretty much the entire back end. Brutal! 30 towels!! I get it. Pretty uumm.... thorough. I can see how that happens. I think I'm using a 7" diameter wheel. A 5" or smaller would probably make things much less stressful.. Thanks for the tutorial- Much appreciated!

Awesome video! Thanks for explaning your process, pad and products. I have an 86 944 turbo in guards red coming in for a correction and coating. I'll likely do CSL+exo for the coating As for cutting stage , I also have the LC and Megs cutting discs. I'll be picking up the Griots one for this job based on your experience. For compounds, I have jescar (should be similar to Menzerna), m100, m110, Griots fast correcting creme, The Last Cut. I'll be doing test spot for sure, but curious to see what you'd recommend. Did HD polish have any fillers in it? I don't recall you doing a IPA or panel prep wipedown. For a finishing step, I've been liking Sonax Perfect Finish or m210. Again, I'll need to test to see what this single stage paint likes better. I'm not experienced with single stage. I see you said you can demote the towels. But what about pads? Will the paint transfer come out of them?

At your convenience, is there any chance you could provide a comprehensive list of all products and equipment used in this specific job? I am trying to address the original single stage paint (white in color) on a European car of similar vintage and would appreciate your recommendations. I know you named these items in the course of your video, but a list would be most helpful. Also, with creases and sculpted contours on body panels, how and when is it appropriate to use masking tape in order to prevent burn-through on these critical areas? Thank you for your consideration and for having produced this instructive video.

Bruh i got myself a rupes mark2, a friend of me said i needed to do 4 passes with 4 different pads ( compound, medium, soft, polish ) and i fucked up my red hood. Didn’t knew it was one stage paint. Should i just test a spot with some compound or polish and go over it 1 time and polish it?

after compounding, do you wipe with some type of IPA before starting to polish?

What was the charge? $1k? My arms would be burned out with all that arm work. After I buff a fender I get sick of working on my car. So if it took 3-4days + material I’m guessing $1k charge. It looks clean for sure
@NextLevelAutoDetail6 жыл бұрын
Tone Win my 2 steps start at 1k. (Not every 2 step is equal) (no coating) The arms........ a lot of people don’t realize how physically demanding the art really is. After doing multi stage polished and 5-6 hour buffing sessions daily your body certainly starts to feel it. My arms or hands never bothered me. Something I just accepted and expected it to come with the territory. My back and legs have been paying for it more than anything. This specific car I had around 15 Hours. I do not like to polish for more than 6 hours. So it was done in 3 sessions.

Next Level Auto Detail yeah I figured. U got a shop so ur overhead must be pretty high. I didn’t think people cared enough about their cars so much that they are willing to come out of their pockets $1k in today’s economy. Good for u dude. I noticed a lot people are trying to become detailers recently too.

Hi, I’ve been watching your videos regarding detailing, may I know your opinion on turtle products, I tried to use it for 3 months( super hard shell paste), I waxed my car by hand every month. And I am satisfied on the result. Thanks!
@NextLevelAutoDetail6 жыл бұрын
The Turtle-Wax brand is good for what it is. a cheap alternative to waxing or polishing a car. it is geared for the car enthusiast who wants to maintain their car but does not know a ton about detailing. However there are certainly better choices to buy over the encounter and local stores. The Paste Wax from turtle wax is hard to remove. it might give you good results but it makes you work more for those results. For local pick up I would recommend Meguiars or Griots Garage from Advance Auto Parts. Meguiars Ultimate Wax (Liquid or Paste) Griots Paste Wax Griots Best Of Show Liquid Wax Griots Garage Poli-Seal those are professional grade products. Much easier to work with and will give you even better results. I dont expect turtle wax to be out of this world performance wise because of the price point. its a cheap way to take care of your car. if you want better products pay the little extra and the perfromance will pay for it's self. thanks for watching!

Thank you for that information. One more thing, since I am new in doing this detailing thing, what kind of machine would you recommend for me to use? Will you recommend the black & decker WP900? It’s affordable and light in terms of weight, compared to other buffing machines. Thanks again
@NextLevelAutoDetail6 жыл бұрын
The machine I recommend most is the Griots Garage 6 Inch. This machine gives you the best of both worlds and that is the capability of doing something as simple as waxing to sanding and doing multi stage paint corrections. This tool will allow you to GROW INTO it as opposed to the black and decker you can grow out of that machine. The Griots has enough power to do some serious paint correction but that skill set will come later . Once you are more experienced with the machine the power is always there later when your ready to rock n roll. There are also some knock off polishers that have become quite popular like the Maxshine 15mm that is a safe and professional machine also. If you have any other questions don’t be afraid to ask !

Next Level Auto Detail Thanks bro, I will try to look for that machine. I’m not sure if that is available here in the Philippines. But again thanks for sharing your knowledge, that would be very helpful for me.
