I jumped right in to it after watching several videos. Used a harbor freight to do my first time. Liked doing it so much I went out and bought the g8, g15, and g21. Then the Dewalt dwp849 to learn the rotary on test panels. Then I got the cheap spta to get in to tight spaces like on my motorcycle

I'm going to do it soon as the weather gets in the upper 50's. I am going to use Turtle Wax Ceramic Hybrid Polish & Wax. I bought the Bauer 64529 last week for $59! I am going to do a light 2 pass like Brian shows and use a blue-pad. My black Corvette is pretty good looking except it seems to have haze, needs a little cleaning and pop. Thanks Brian!!!

I've done a few now. It's a very satisfying feeling to the end result. I did struggle with a Griots garage 15mm constantly stalling out on a semi I was working on. I would like to get a different 15mm polisher.

You are SO right about “once you try it, you’ll be hooked”! I went the Harbor Freight/Hybrid Solutions route and I’m loving the results. My car, wife’s car, both daughters cars and mother in laws car they all look great. The Hybrid Solutions products along with your videos gave me the confidence to try and I’m so glad I’ve learned to invest some time into polishing, protecting and improving the look of our vehicles. Thanks for sharing your talents through these videos.

Hi Brian. You have a great approach to providing information because you're very specific. Thank you! I do have a question the I, personally, don't think requires too many specifics. Before I ask you this question. I want you to know that I'm asking for your opinion and that I am solely responsible for doing enough research to avoid any negative outcomes in case something I do doesn't work out well. I take full responsibility for any outcome. You are NOT responsible if I screw anything up. Having said that... Now, here's my question for you. I bought a 2006 Scion tc that has clear coat damage that I want to fix. The paint also needs correction. I may need to get the factory color paint matched for the purposes of clear coat and a few other scratch repairs. I've been told by the Auto paint store that provides paints for most of the local body shops in my neighborhood, that my Scion has six different variations on the specific silver color on my car and that I should compound out a section of the paint to select the correct color to use for any repairs. My question for you is... Should I work on correcting the paint of the entire car and then use the 5000 grit wet sanding to prep the damaged areas for spraying any new clear coat AFTER all of the paint correction has been done? Or, should I just prep and repair the damaged clear coat areas and spray them with a couple of passes BEFORE I do the paint correction on the entire car? Any advice would be helpful.
@TedSchade88
@TedSchade88 3 жыл бұрын
Brian, your videos have been extraordinarily helpful. We appreciate all the time you put into this. You typically talk about clear coat corrections, but some of us amateurs are working with single stage paint. I am getting ready to tackle a 2008 MINI Cooper with Chili Red and white single stage paint. The paint is in pretty good shape, it’s just a 12-year old car that has the various moderate scratches and hazing that comes with a car that old which has never been corrected. I use the Turtle Wax ceramic line of products to maintain shine, so I am leaning toward the TW polish/wax. I have the Griot's G9 machine. What pad(s) would you recommend? It’s my wife’s car and I’m willing to put a couple of stages of correction into it to make it nice. Thanks again for all the knowledge you pass on.

Great vid. I feel this was a very informative video. You answered a few questions that were running around my head. Also you show that you don’t need to have the most expensive equipment to do good work. Brian, I would like for you to clarify one thing. Do you go through a bunch of pads or do you clean them enough where you are only using three or four pads per car(mid size car). Thank you

I have a black 2022 Honda Accord. Just got it like a month ago. Didn’t realize the dealer sent the car through the car wash that wasn’t brush free. Saw a lot of swirls a few weeks later. Wanted to know which process should I use for the pain correction and bring it back to show room shine minus the swirls and light scratches. As in what machine, pads and polish I should use. Thanks for your help.

I'm trying to restore paint on a 1993 jeep wrangler Sahara. Some spots have pretty good oxidation and others not so bad. The bad spots what do you recommend? Is wet sanding too much for heavy oxidation? There are no flakes of clear coat coming off but it's pretty oxidized. I tried V32 rubbing compound from chemical guys and it worked a little but most oxidation came back. Thanks

I've commented before and still procrastinating! I don't have anything--polisher, pad or product. Since I don't know if my truck has hard, medium or soft clear what do I buy? Not only can you save money by investing in the tools, but now you can do friends and family's cars for nothing more than your time. My sister's and brother in law's cars are the shiniest on their block, same goes for my parent's cars and gfs car. If there weren't already 10+ detailers in my town, it would be a great way to make a few extra bucks.

Exellant! I've been waiting for just this type of video! Beautiful! Allittle off subject but can you make a video on how to polish the vertical(sides) of a car? How to hold the polisher, it's obviously harder on the sides of a car cause gravity is not your friend here. 😆 I have a 03 buick lesabre which has some rounded side panels. Hope this isn't a stupid question. Thanks Brian! P.S. I miss mail call.
