For me too. I needed this video to help me follow the leading the Spirit was giving. I'm always worried if I don't know all the things going on I won't be prepared. But it's God's job to lead me and my family. Anything that I Need to know He will make sure I know it

There are so many forms of addiction that never get talked about. It's not just drugs, sex and money. Politics nowadays is especially toxic, because a huge role is played by insults and hatred, all things that are deeply un-christian. It's like a poison if you take too much of it

this is a really healthy realization, there are too many people who love to watch political news and argue with others in the comments🙄 a lot of news is important, but also a lot is empty like you mentioned

Political content makes me think and say unchristian things. The the lies, dishonesty, hate, bigotry, biases deception, theft, immoral agendas, and down right EVIL intentions should make every Godly person 🤮

Being sucked into politic in 2016 is actually a part of my testimony as being a "political Christian" made me realize how hopeless life is without Christ. Inevitably I was humbled by God and cried out to Him to save me. Thankfully, Jesus did.

This happen to me as well.. I became so ingrained into politics it was unhealthy like so many voices and opinions being filled in my mind it gave me headaches. So I stepped away and now I’m not oblivious what’s going on. I do listen and stay updated when I can. But I’m not obsessively listening to politics as I use too. And it feels nice to not be bombarded with so much information..

There is just too much consumable content available. People aren’t bored anymore. I miss the days when I was younger and felt deathly bored because I think that’s when I was mentally the healthiest 😂

I think it's important to be bored and have nothing to do from time to time. This doesn't happen very often

Political content has been competing (and winning) for my attention with Christ for far too long. I needed to see this video. Thanks man.

I also had the same thought where I believed that after the election, I would slowly care less about politics. But I realize I've been getting into this cycle of just watching political drama. I think I should still read the news, but I should definitely stay away from political content on youtube because it can make me feel bitter, hopeless or start making idols out of politics.

Politics was making me have very ungodly thoughts after watching even Christian conservative commenters because I was so angry afterwards. I didn't like disappointed the Lord with my attitude. Anyway, you are wise my young brother to just avoid politics all together but don't give up your convictions.

You and me both. 😂 It is really consuming. So, I took a break and I must admit, it was refreshing to do so. But, I probably will get back to it on January 20th. 😅

I FEEL this. I go through waves of watching a lot of political content and enjoying it, then I keep consuming it for months after it stops feeling satisfying. Then I stop watching it for months usually, feel better, and then something happens I want to get informed on, and I get back into political content and enjoy it again for a while. I think political content isn't a bad thing in certain times, but once said event has passed, it starts feeling like bloat. It's just junk food entertainment that masquerades as important and intellectual information delivery, but it's really just a bunch of nothing that makes you feel empty and/or gross like eating donuts everyday does. A donut every so often is fine, but everyday is awful. And some of the political content is genuinely bad, because it makes you 'other' those who disagree with you. I know I got thrown back into politics heavily leading up to the election, which was simultaneously good and bad. Good because I was staying informed and had a decent idea of what was happening, and bad because it aggravated my stress. The next few weeks after the election were fine because I wasn't stressed anymore and I was interested in the fall out and to see where the Trump administration was heading. And then it really started to drag me down and feel like it was just an empty void taking up time in my life because nothing relevant was happening. I'm trying to cut back now and start watching things like tutorials and videos that actually have a bearing on my life and projects. Maybe start listening to audiobooks too. It's hard retraining the algorithm and my brain though. I'm definitely in the burnout stage of the cycle

Something similar happened to me during the pandemic. My solution was to basically delete all my social media except for the basic ones like email and put a limit on the time I spend on YT because it's basically my equivalent of TV. It was literally my only way out but my mental health was improving. I know politics is more complicated because of its implications but it's one of those times where being ignorant is even me.

Outside of the presidential election, I stopped watching politics, news, and just the TV YEARS ago. I avoid listening to things that riles me up or depresses me. So yeah, just don't watch. Simple as that.

Hey man I just want to say that if we don’t completely turn from our sins we will go to hell. It’s the truth. “Unless you repent you will al likewise perish”(Luke 13:3). Jesus can make you new inside. He loves you. What I’m saying is the truth. Sinners will not enter the kingdom of God. Jesus bless you man
