The thing with Gibby is - if you know the butthole surfers music from their peak creative period (the 80s) you know their lyrics have always been a mystery. No one knows for sure what exactly they are. They never include them with any CD's, Gibby's voice is almost always distorted and the coherent thoughts are cryptic and disjointed.

Thats a great description of Gibbys Voice! I would say his voice sounds like trying decipher punk rock music on LSD. SO Yea Good luck trying to understand any meaning but Perfect for what the Butthole Surfers were trying to capture. I would contend Gibby Hayes drunken drug induced insanity was at the heart of the bands music at the time. Its really Great I Mean!

The funny thing here is none of these four are legit songwriters except Stephen and he isn't a very good one. You have a brain dead clown who wrote absurdist comedy and another dork who writes parodies and copies of pop tunes/comedy and you have a session and side-woman bass player. Gimme a break. Invite some serious songwriters and lyricists to talk about lyrics in songs. This is so wack.
