We have too many conferences on drafting annew constitution without any meaningful outcome. I would rather we dust up those reports and draw out a new draft constitution from them. As defective as the current constitution, I am of the view that the primary challenge facing the nation is the weak legal environment in the country. The non adherence to the provisions of the law of the land. There is so much impunity and no one gets punished for breaches and bad behaviour. We can have a new constitution, but if the laws are not observed and implemented, nothing will change. Our problem is simply the bad behaviour of politicians.
