Philbrick’s acclaimed narrative histories include In the Heart of the Sea, winner of the National Book Award-and the basis for the recent Ron Howard film-Mayflower, awarded the Massachusetts Book Award, and most recently, Bunker Hill, honored with the New England Book Award. In his fourteenth book, Philbrick focuses on the Revolutionary War, recreating the revolt through the experiences of George Washington and Benedict Arnold, whose strained relationship itself became a tense battleground when Arnold began to harbor resentments and lose his patriotic fervor, and Washington came to suspect that not all the enemies were outside his forces.
Founded by Carla Cohen and Barbara Meade in 1984, Politics & Prose Bookstore is Washington, D.C.'s premier independent bookstore and cultural hub, a gathering place for people interested in reading and discussing books. Politics & Prose offers superior service, unusual book choices, and a haven for book lovers in the store and online. Visit them on the web at www.politics-pr...
