The remote location is beautiful in the summer and the isolation helps calm the demons that pursue Ernt. But winter tests the Allbrights both psychologically and physically, and they have no one to turn to but each other.

Thank God she brought The Great Alone out of the garbage! It's my favorite book of hers! Better than The Nightingale to me!

I couldn’t get into “The Great Alone” and returned it to the library. I then borrowed it again and really loved this book. So glad I finished.
