@@garciagar64, I'm not talkin' about the Russian "political" legacy during the 20th century in particular, was referring to music & fine arts, Stalin & Lenin weren't humans, they've paved the way for hunderds of dictatorships around the globe.

Oh field, dear field, Dear wide field, Heroes ride over the field, Hey, heroes of the red army. Girls are crying, Today the girls are downhearted, Their beloved has gone away for a long time, Hey, away to the army. Girls, take a look, Take a look at our road, The long road is winding, Hey, what a jolly road. But out there we see, We see a grey storm-cloud: The enemy's evil from within the forest, Hey, the enemy's evil is like a storm-cloud. Hey, girls, take a look, We're ready to take the enemy, Our steeds are quick-legged, And hey, our tanks are quick-moving. Hey, let comradely work Bubble in the kolkhoz, We're supervisors today, Hey, today we're sentries.

Polyushko is a diminutive, tender form of pole pole means field it's used twice for effect (reduplication isn't a rare phenomenon in Russian) I dont know how to say it in English, something like "fieldy field"... (field > fieldy as in John > Johnny)

the music to this is written by Lev Knipper, and the lyrics are by Victor Gusev. The original does sing about the "red army heroes", since it was written in the 1930s and isn't really a folk song. Origa's lyrics are not those of the original.

So where are those Scytians? I am Oghuz Turkish and i am tall, blond and green-eyed.Oghuz Turks came to Anatolia and Balkans from C.Asia.Before CA,the first Turkic peoples appared in north of Altay mountains and Siberia as a different race from Mongols. If Scytians lived in Siberia does it mean i am of Scytian descent? Seriouly, the Scytians were mix of Iranian and Turkic peoples. They lived not in Siberia but they lived in Central Asia and Caucasus.

@paruski73 know what that is you to have only one bottle of water to wash itself when it is too much warm, or only some fat of lard to be eaten when it makes 10 between less to less 35 centigrade degrees, it was the daily of the majority of Russians, I saw so much despair there that now I think that more people with nice musics and more her soul suffer. I also like Russia, I fell in love with it.

@BerlinBunker1 Its a bolshevikized version. The original music was written by russian composer Leon Knipper, who fought with the White Army Of Russia againist the bolsheviks' red army. Bolsheviks forced him to create that version. So please, dont associate this song with the bolsheviks and USSR, cuz this song soaked with a pain of Russian Empire and White Army and what bolsheviks did with our country.
