Oh. My. Gawd!!!! That FILTER!!! I have watched many, many, demos of this legendary Synth, but, YOU, Sir, show what this wonderful BEAST is truly capable of! And why I spent $1,200 (and waited around THREE MONTHS for it to be shipped from Uzbekistan while the whole World was “closed down” because of The Coronavirus Pandemic) And, then, by the time that it DID arrive, several keys had broken off of it’s notoriously cheap keyboard, several electronic pieces had fallen off the circuit board, etc., so I then sent it to a shop up in Portland to be repaired, and in the end, can only watch AWESOME VIDEOS like this one! (And weep uncontrollably)

If you know what you are doing its predictable but still could lead to the unexpected sweetspots every synth have and our brain likes that much :) Have a look at Erica Synths modules, I have some and wont sell them. For the money you spend on an old polivocs you could build a decent new one and Erica Synths did a great job on improving the original circuits.

+Suzukisenpai Но это же не полифонический синт, а двухголосый, обратите внимание на пальцы играющего! У меня такой был.. Когда применял для игры в составе рок-группы.. И притом, что звучание у него специфическое, "техническое-космическое-прикольно-неземное".. Для звуковых иллюстраций в кино, театрах, на презентациях и пр.. Потом я купил полифонический "Ямаха", и по сравнению с "Поливоксом" в 100 раз лучше.. И на нем можно не только подобное, как на "Поливоксе" сыграть, а также и классические живые инструменты, начиная с фортепиано-гитары.. А "Поливокс" -это специфический, для узкого круга пользователей, но никак не для массового потребителя.. Так что не вижу смысла возобновлять выпуск таких узкоспециализированных аппаратов.. Сам от него еле избавился, пришлось раза четыре делать скидку, ну, то есть, продал почти за бесценок!

Вот так да.. А на западе за ним почти охота началась в последние годы. С Ямахой всё понятно, тем более что вам требовался "универсальный синтезатор на все случаи жизни". Я и не говорил, что Поливокс способен заменить весь сет клавишных, синтезаторов должно быть несколько и разных видов, об этом знают все музыканты и продюсеры. К тому же я и не говорил о возрождении именно Поливокса. Если на то пошло, то Минимуг ни разу не полифонический тоже)) К тому же тот и двух нот одновременно не сыграет. Да я и не спорю, что Поливокс "специфический". Кстати, а сколько этих самых узкоспециализированных аналоговых и VA продается сейчас - и ничего, берут да ещё и "добавки просят". Сейчас за завесой коммерческой музыки постепенно возрождается электронно-космическая сцена. Да, не такая большая и мало кому известная, зато музыка у них качественная, интересная и написана по зову души, так сказать, а не потоком, бабла ради, извините. В общем время покажет, я думаю.

Думаю, через какое-то время VST будут пользоваться только для создания джинглов на радио, для рекламы и для баловства. Электронная музыка возродится через аналоговые железки.

Kupiłem Polyvox, bardzo tanio, w moim bardzo odległym północnym mieście. Po prostu brak słów... co to za hipopotam elektryczny. Skontaktowałem się nawet z Władimirem Kuźminem, a on przysłał mi swój magazyn o projektowaniu obwodów (byłem bardzo szczęśliwy). Super osoba! Bardzo kapryśny syntezator, ze względu na jakość radzieckich komponentów radiowych (być może dali tę straszną moc)))

I inherited a polivoks from one of my old music tutors. I play bass guitar so I'm still learning to understand the workings of this synth. I couldn't get any good sounds from it myself but this shows what it is capable of. I'll give it another go tomorrow :)

derLPMaxe - Generischer Name, Generischer Kanal. Produced more? There were an estimated 100,000 Poiivoxes manufactured. That would make it the 3rd most common synth ever, behind the Microkorg and the M1. Trouble is,I think 95,000 of them were defective when they left the factory. They're high maintenence!

NickToznost I read that they had a quite good quality management and they tested everything through. That some broke down after a while at the costomer's because they had to take B-quality parts sometimes is another thing. If you produce more the rate of fails (or passes) should raise with the passes (or fails). ;) I don't understand why they didn't exported it though, because after all it was a pretty planned through and nicely designed product and not a cheap soviet ripoff. I guess it would have competed with the western counterparts and might influenced music history a bit. But after all this philosophie here, they didn't exported it, western musicians were suprised, it still got a kind of minor popularity and when the Poliwoks works it rocks.

NickToznost agree, they need quite a lot of maintenance and a specialized technician as well.. you can't just solder around a polivox. a minimoog is more reliable but on the other side the charm of this instrument is quite unique and somehow obscure.
