These speakers, and others with the same parts, have been made by Polk for probably 10 or more years now. This set is from 2013, and is still being made. They are good in my opinion, about what you’d expect for their price.
Music created with Apple GarageBand.

These drivers and tweeters look like mine in my vintage RT3 book shelf units (circa 1996) , except mine say dynamic Balance on the tweeters . I believe they were designed at the time using lasers to get rid of distortion.

Mine also say dynamic balance on the tweeters. The way the light hits it you can’t see it in this video. I actually don’t care for these speakers. The crossover point seems way, WAY too high. The mids sound odd and loud at around 1000hz, and they the bass is kinda like my cheapie Onkyo mini system speakers with only a 4 inch woofer! The tweeters are only okay. Edit: the rt3 has a different woofer, and seems to be a superior design to these just from looking.

Will they play good sideways like Bose 201s are made

These will actually sound their best mounted higher up on a wall with their stock keyhole slots due to how the sound waves from the components line up: listening to these straight on will cause a gap in the lower treble: they would sound thin and hissy in the top end. I actually switched the polarity of the tweeter (treble speaker) inside one of my t15s and it sounded better at ear level than the stock one.

Nice video.. Do you think these would be good for a 2 channel stereo system with a turntable in a studio apartment?.

There are way better speakers than this for the price. However, they are very common, and I think I know why. They are louder at a lower volume level compared to their competitors, which makes them sound “fuller” in the demos. However, if you switch to another speaker and turn the volume up, it will likely sound better.

Which is better? Pioneer sp-bs22 or polk audio t15 bookshelf ? I like clean audio, clear vocals, sharp instrumental sound. Heavy bass is not my priority. Please help me

Not these polks though. For “clean audio,” the pioneer is certainly better. The vocals are perhaps the greatest weak spot of the polks, even worse than the bass.

Any idea about micca mb42x and jbl a120 when compared to this. I am super confused...
@djijspeakerguy4628
@djijspeakerguy4628 3 жыл бұрын
The most important thing about any of these is that they are passive speakers, so they need an external amplifier or receiver to power them. Many people, including us, have made that mistake in the past. I have heard that the JBL is better than both the Polk and the Micca. The JBL is usually like twice the price though. I have heard it is worth the higher price to people who care about sound. If you want to spend less, most people will give the slight edge tho the Micca over the Polk, even though the Micca is smaller. The JBL is literally in a different class. Not only are they a higher price, but people say they sound even more expensive than they are, very true to the original recording. Of course, it is all about what you think, which is why is can be difficult to buy speakers while the physical stores are closed, you can’t hear them before you buy them. But overall, I’d say you’d be happier with the JBL, or even the Micca.

Really the t15s are only good in the rear of a surround sound system, and not as main speakers for music. For music, people recommend the Sony speakers ss-cs5, but I have not heard those before, The Sony are, from what I have read, not necessarily focused on bass, but sound far clearer and more detailed than these polks, far closer to how the artist intended.

Any idea on comparison with S15. Are S15s really superior to T15s? Thanks. :)
@djijspeakerguy4628
@djijspeakerguy4628 4 жыл бұрын
I have not heard the S15 in a while, but they had them last time I went to Best Buy, the store where you can demo all of the different sets. I can’t remember which one actually sounded better as in clarity in treble and mids, and which one had a less muddy bass. I just remember the bass being louder on the s15.

@@audiophilehifimusic9548 Literally just came back from Best Buy being really torn between the two (T15 vs S15). They're both on sale, but the S15's are only $55 more at $115... so I bought them. It's just for surrounds but...go big or go home :)
