Ngl ive been in that school for half a year and its hell. No wonder kids act up, cause they are all being treated like they are in military having to follow strict rules to the point if you pull out your phone during lunch its taken away and your mom or dad gotta pick it up. Mom calling? Too bad its gone. Imagine if that kid got lost when going home that day, with no phone to call for help cause they got bored during lunch and wanted to play some music to drown out the many kids talking. There is little to no freedom and everyone is just expected to be 100% perfect and dare they do 99% its harsh punishment. Hell my sister had a teacher who flat out took any drawing that wasn't "realistic" such as cartoon and anime, and ripped it up right on front of the kids face. RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. Another teacher had multiple times, forgot to add a kid into an online class who was waiting since before the bell, and had kids tell him someone was waiting, only to later see them and mark them late despite them being on time and just waiting for his confrontation. My sister herself got left despite being early and marked late. You could say he was tired and overworked with online, but he refused to listen to any kid who told him they been there waiting, completely ignored any kid who asked for help, told them they should've listened. My sister had a class transfer and that dumbass teacher decided to grade her for the 3 or so weeks she wasnt even part of that class. And when she did them they were considered "late" and he only gave a max of 60%. My mom called many times and it took nearly the entire rest of the quarter to get him to realize she wasnt there for 3 weeks cause she was in another class. A different teacher was trying to force her into school activities she was not interested in and said no countless times that even my mom said no and he still pestered to the point my sister got a whole scedual changed just to escape him. When I was there I had a class accross the campus and no matter how much I sprinted I was always practically late or a few seconds before the bell, there was this empty patch of grass that for some reason was forbidden to walk on that I could've used to save 30 seconds of walking, but no, dare walk there once and you might get written up. Even if you were new. You can literally walk in any other grassy area, its just that one was for some reason protected. You had to order school lable uniform that I believe changed every year, making you order more, must tuck your shirt in, jackets remain unzipped, loops must have belts, no bookbags (I mean, I guess its understandable ngl) phones are only allowed before the first bell and after, dare have it on in the halls or lunch and its gone for the rest of the day until yo parent gets it. Hardly any events took place, or they did they were just poorly advertised or just that bad that no one talked about them, assigned seats during lunch, how dare you sit with your friend. Must get whatever seat you're pointed to during dismissal. Wanted to sit with your friend? Better wait for them outside and hope yall dont end up on opposite ends of the bleachers. I mean I get it, kids can act like animals. But when you treat them like animals, they WILL act like animals. It actually pisses me off to see kids get blamed for their actions. They are KIDS, still growing and need guidance. If they are such a spoiled kid then blame the adults around them, like their parents. Because thats what a parent is supposed to do, raise them. The only exception are mental illnesses that cant be controlled, but we have medication, special need classes, and other stuff to work with them. Kids are our next generation who will be the legs once older people grown too old to hold it up. If anything is to blame its the school itself for letting things get this out of hand. These people in this school will most likly move on to my high school which is much less strict and I find to be much more happier. More events, more accomplishments, more pleasing teachers, less fights, more freedom while still remaining safe and learning, I am happier there than I ever was in Boone. I had a mental breakdown and almost ran away from home with how much I hated that school and felt so restrained and put down as if i was nothing more than a barking dog.

I did read all that you read, you seemed fit to burst by the amount you typed up. You need a mediator, someone neutral that can facilitate those grievances: Parent/teacher/students. Is there not a Parent Teacher Association? Some parents may be part of a board of governors, who have more clout when making significant changes. You can conduct your own research online, to make some headway with these problems. Hope this gives you some ideas. It was good you posted the student response to this news story. Hopefully after four months ( your comment date ) things have settled down, following investigation by police & school governing body.

If there's two sides to every incident times by those involved, discarding exaggeration & lies, as you can see truth & resolution isn't straight forward.

There is never a reason to strike a student or man handle the student. If a student is out of control the Parents should be called summoned to the school with Police Officers. The child can be suspended or removed from school for his or actions to include insubordination!! If a student strikes a teacher then staff can restrain the child until Police arrive. The student can be charged with assault or aggravated assault. Only in the case of emergency can a teacher move a child by redirecting the path of the student. However here in Arizona it is still in the criminal revised statues that anyone in charge or supervising a child can use physical discipline to control the child. However, the staff member would have to have a credible reason for doing so. The statue does Not say anything about parental permission! I was paddled by my Junior High School principle for being caught making out in a closet with a female student my own age. Then my Mom was called and briefed, I was disciplined again at home by her for my actions. I never repeated the indiscretion again on school property!!! We were not touched by the teacher, but escorted to the principle's office. It would be wise to check the statues of the local jurisdiction! I am a retired law enforcement officer, if that teacher were here he would have been arrested and charged just as he has been. Never attempt to discipline a child without seeking sound counsel as to your area. The common theme going around here is a parent can be arrested and put in jail for spanking their child, that is Not true unless there are marks left proving child abuse, then the parent will go to jail!!!

Need to make sure you have every side of the story and do your best to make sure what's true and what isn't because I know how kids can be these day, been there done that and they aren't little angels like their mommy and daddy always try to make them out to be when shit like this happens.
